They cite hygiene. Maybe I wore my trunks out and about or have stuff in my pockets (yeah, even our swim trunks have pockets 😬) so I can't wear them in the water.

Don't believe the lies told by Big Baguette - sandwiches cannot be carried by bread alone. They're all, "Our bread is so good, it doesn't need anything else!" Lies. Is the bread good, sure. But this isn't a sandwich, it's an insult. An argument. If "We need to talk" was a meal. Rocks in shoes.

Had a great time yesterday wandering around with @stemhands.bsky.social, @virginie.bsky.social, and McKenzie!
3 men smiling outside on a Paris street. Scott, a bald white man, in a blue stripped shirt with white collar on the left. I am in the middle, lavender shirt, black and brown strap over shoulder. McKenzie, Black man on the right, grey hat, glasses, light colored shirt with various flowers and leaves on it, black strap over shoulder. Virginie, a white woman in a black tank top, with round frame glasses and curly hair smiling next to Terynce, a smiling Black man, in a lavender shirt. The pub lighting has made everything appear orange as if bathed in a sunset.

I find it damn irksome to have ads overlaid on my licensed stream as if they are in the ballpark. I've already seen this episode of Black Mirror.

The #GoodLunch feed isn't working for me, but this is what I ate anyway. I didn't let my rice simmer long enough and the veggies could have used another minute or two as well, but I was in a rush.

The more you cook at home the less likely you are to be impressed by random street food. Utterly flavorless nonsense that was! Two bites and I was done. No salt, no pepper, no wishes for a better future.

Since moving to France, when people ask me if I miss anything from the US, normally I say spicy food. Tonight my answer is queso. I'm at a Mexican (!) place and my options were guacamole or a black bean puree. Isn't this the home base of cheese?! Come on now!

Proud of the newly minted Dr. McKenzie Tyree! He successfully defended his dissertation looking at the experiences of Black, immigrant French teachers and how colonial ideology influenced curriculum choices in US urban settings. My circle is STRONG!

Most of the time, quite a bit. In fact, I pulled the data. Blue and purple are good days or above, pink is meh. Have yet to have down or awful days this year.
A chart that shows moods for every day of the year. X axis is the month, Y axis is the date, each coordinate is a circle. Blue represents awesome/phenomenal days, purple good, pink meh, red down days, and beige awful. Thus far this year, there have been 61 blue days, 7 purple days, 1 meh day, and 0 for down and awful.

Doing French homework by listening to Stromae. I understood the lyrics as "It's better to be alone than to be in bad company" because... obviously. But apparently, it's the opposite‽ Not sure if I'm more bothered by my (lack) of French comprehension or the sentiment.

What's up with restaurants serving food on half a wooden plank?! I'm not a lumberjack and while I appreciate fine woodworking, an actual plate would be just fine! Preferably large enough for fries. And bring back bottles! I don't want condiments in ramekins or packets. A thimble is not a serving.
