iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I wasn't a huge EBM fan back in the day (was more into electro-industrial), but I actually like some of the newer artists out now. So I guess I'll post my favorite 242 on 24/2. Duh. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqll...

Say you have about 20+ years of musical sketches. What do you do with them? Do you hold out hope that you'll finish them one day, or do you go scorched earth and nuke them all?

Listening to the newest Clean Error records release Bearclaw - Breach. Good glitchy beats, reminiscent of Lexaunculpt and Phoenicia. cleanerrorrecords.bandcamp.com/album/err064...

In all honesty, I love early 2000s websites. Some of the most innovative designs with very low tech stacks. What happened? I wish companies would invest in creativity again.

Have been using Zed for a bit now and it's got some great QOL features and has been pretty fast. I love it.

FYI, this account is dedicated to all my sci-fi/cyberpunk/noir type stuff and various electronic music I like. Eventually, I'll get the blog up and going to review stuff there, but it still needs some work 😅 My main account I use for pretty much everything else is @longlostforgotten.com.

For newer games, Nobody Wants To Die fits pretty nicely in the hard boiled futuristic noir genre. I'm a few hours into the game and there's some really interesting story and detective work so far. Excited to see how this unfolds.

I think it's time for another yearly play through of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. HR and Mankind Divided, hands down two of my favorite cyberpunk themed videogame RPGs of all time. Bummer that they cancelled the most recent DE project last year, though :(

Stumbled across a new cyberpunk TTRPG called Neon City Blues. Sounds fun and definitely right up my alley. Backed it on KS www.kickstarter.com/projects/508...

Have an urge to watch Cyber City Oedo 808 again. Great cyberpunk anime from the early 90s.

Started messing around with Tone.js today. Pretty cool little web audio api. I want to build a little fm synth with it if I can. My stack is Astro, React, and Tone.js.

First time I can ever recall being scared from a movie as a kid was this scene from Superman 3. But maybe it also explains why I like sci-fi/cyberpunk stuff so much 🤷‍♂️

Another random fact: schism tracker can load/edit adlib sounds. You can create a whole FM synth track without loading any samples.

So I knew you could load DX7 patches on the Volca FM but TIL you can load/manage patches from Dexed!

Picked up a copy of the Altered Carbon TTRPG. Haven't really heard much about it, but the novel is definitely in my top for recent cyberpunk fiction.

Just caught the trailer for the upcoming Monsieur Spade series and it looks pretty good. Have always loved noir films, so it's a much welcome change from sci-fi stuff I normally watch.

Picked up a couple Anbernic handhelds: RG35XX (L) & RG353M (R). Both have tons of games. The RG35XX is a bit smaller, but cheaper. The RG353M is solid and my fav. Definitely recommend this brand if you're looking for a smaller, handheld device.

Stumbled across a heavier sounding shoegaze band on Bandcamp recently, No Culture. Based out of Cullman, AL of all places (driven through quite a bit). Don't let that fool you, they are fantastic. Similar to Holy Fawn at times. Give them a listen! nocultureisaband.bandcamp.com/album/dioxaz...
