The thing about Rube Goldberg’s comics is he’d change the title of the feature to match the theme. So one day it’d be “I never thought of that” and the next day it’d be “Sure, I Know, Everything Is Great” or “But It Doesn't Mean Anything” or "Our Own Weekly Radio Ravings". All from July 1922

A maid replies: The folks have just started to dress andnoneof the guests are here yet - won't you step in and wait an hour or so?

He says to a policeman: No matter how late they tell you to come to dinner, it's always later than that, so it doesn't mean anything.

1) I love the decompressed storytelling that Mitsuru Adachi does, where the story is about *how* the characters don’t say anything. But it’s a lot easier to take a few pages to let things breathe when your unit-of-publication is 30 pages rather than one. 2) Always play to your strengths

I was re-reading Mitsuru Adachi’s “Rough”. In the background, he’d advertise his other manga and Shōnen Sunday, the magazine that this ran in. That poster isn’t based on an actual cover but that panda is almost certainly Genma Saotome from Ranma 1/2 which ran in the same magazine.
