I wish I got to play as Jesse again, because I think there was a lot more potential there. That said, they do a great job of characterizing Dylan. Jesse was like a mobile artillery platform by the end of the game, Dylan's movement makes him look like he's uncertain about owning limbs.

Sometimes it's self-hating eggs. It doesn't excuse the behavior, but there's a certain variety of online right winger who is exceptionally protective of their masculinity (because they *have* to maintain the binary), and then posts about how only women can find themselves hot - for guys, that's gay.

He's shockingly good at conveying his worldview in the story - in that sense, he's a gifted writer. It can even be compelling at times, he's pretty good at characterization. On the other hand, his worldview is batshit, and infests every corner of the story, so things get rather out of hand.

Happens with hair too! I have photos of me as a kid, and I was blond and blue eyed until I was 5-6 or so. Eventually I ended up with brown hair and grey-green eyes once my body figured out pigments.

This was easily the second most traumatic movie I saw as a kid. Second only to "Watcher in the Woods", because my friend's parents didn't realize Disney released a single very well made horror movie.
