Pet theory that movie directing can be extremely similar, at least in spirit, to selecting the output of genAI to keep iterating on. Which is why all these auteur directors keep coming forward to proclaim AI is a boon. They may have been taking credit for other worker's ideas the whole time.

I think the term x-slop might be a psyop. Only seen it used to address things that are painstakingly hand made. Small indie games, long form YouTube essays, indie music, ect. If someone spends a great deal of energy making something and people like it. There is a group of people labeling it x-slop.
