Drop some BOWS!! [ #oc #art #wow ]

An illustration of Kitra, specced as an arcane-archer, holding her bow as she conjures up an arcane arrow. The scene behind her shows woods and meadows in a pleasant light, with a grassy surface that leads in toward the camera. She is wearing mail and leather armor in gold and purples tones with white and grey clothing beneath and her red hair is pulled up into a ponytail.

‪I couldn't ignore the urge to do another one for the Flower Festival prompt. My pyromancer, Kitra, in a dress inspired by the flowers in the cinderbee area. [ #art #oc #ocart #wowart #ocflowerfestival2025 ]

An illustration of a women in a dress set against an out-of-focus garden exterior. Her red hair is gathered atop her head in an updo and her dress is a pencil gown that gradients from pink to red with an effect like lava or cinders. The 'petals' that flow out from her waist twist around her upper thighs and are tipped with glowing yellow at the ends. She holds a cinderbee flower in one hand.

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.

💡 Tip: You can set your website as your username on Bluesky! This is one form of self-verification, and we especially encourage official organizations and brands to do this! Examples include @npr.org @react.dev @duolingobrasil.com.br. Here's our guide for how to do this:

I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!

Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio
Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024

By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved

With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1

For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1)

And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2

Hey I made a quick welcome guide to BlueSky :) There's tons more, but I think these few steps will get you up and enjoying it quickly.

(arrow pointing to drawing of toggle) Toggle to enable Adult Content
THEN choose Hide, Warn, or SHOW
(star) tip: images are AI moderated so some slip thru & some G-rated images get tagged as "explicit", so "Warn" may be the bet choice atm
#3 Go to SETTINGS
(box with drawing of toggle) toggle require alt text on images (please ♥)
(arrow points to) Home Feed Prefs
(star) Use these settings to control seeing reposts & replies on your TL

#4 Go to My Feeds
Go to "Discover New Feeds" to search for interesting feeds like "Only Posts"
Click the "+" to add the feed
(box) Go to the (gear icon) [edit my feeds] here you can pin and unpin feeds
(side note) pinned feed will appear at the top of your TL
Don't forget to "♥" the feed when you click on it to preview, this helps others find it!

People often ask me about how to write ALT text. It's GREAT that more people are becoming aware of the importance of this and want to do it right! My primary advice is to look for guidance directly from people with visual impairments - not random "social media gurus". www.perkins.org/resource/how...
