❄️The Arctic is thawing — and the plants moving in are making it worse. A research team within #TERRA🌍 studied the #Stordalen mire in #Sweden across a full growing season. As permafrost melts, grasses replace shrubs. They absorb CO₂ in summer — but drive far more methane by late season.
