Quick Wonky pinwheel quilt block tutorial
This wonky pinwheel block is made with charm squares and a relaxed, improv approach. The angles are slightly off on purpose, which gives the block movement without making it hard to sew. Because every block is constructed the same way, they fit together neatly and create a strong tessellation effect across the quilt top. It’s a great option if you like a bit of wonkiness but still want a quilt that comes together easily.

The Buzzsaw block has that sharp, spinning look that makes it stand out, but the construction is still based on a simple half-square triangle method. It’s another case of cutting, rearranging, and sewing strips back together to build the final design. In this video I use the same HST strip method. Strippy equilalteral triangles
Turn your leftover fabric strips into a striking quilt with this easy strip-pieced triangle technique. In this tutorial, you'll sew strips together to make a 4" high unit, cut it into equilateral triangles, and arrange the triangles in alternating directions to create a dynamic design with plenty of movement. Each triangle finishes at 3½", making this a perfect scrap-busting project. Add a few triangles whenever you have leftover strips from other quilts, then keep building until you have enough for a quilt in any size. It's an ideal long-term project that grows one strip at a time. Join Patreon and watch the full tutorial.

Stack & Whack Layer Cake block
Sometimes the simplest idea makes the most beautiful quilt. The Stack & Whack Layer Cake block is exactly that — a clean, modern Square-in-a-Square design that lets your fabric do all the talking, and it couldn't be easier to put together. Mix your prints, scatter your colours, and the blocks come together into a quilt that looks curated and considered — even though the whole thing is beginner-friendly from start to finish.

Disappearing fancy nine patch quilt block
The Disappearing Fancy Nine Patch creates a quilt full of movement and rhythm. By swapping the four corner squares of the base nine patch for two hourglass blocks and two four-patch blocks on opposite corners, each block develops strong diagonal lines and a subtle woven effect. When repeated, those diagonals link from block to block, forming a continuous pattern that looks more complex than it is.
