Illustration commission for @/molllusque on instagram🫀 I loved working on this #commission #art #digitalillustration #darkart #gloomy

In the foreground on the left is the commissioned character, who is sitting on a small, dark stone block. Half of his body is in the water. He has long wavy hair, sharp elf-like ears freckles and an ornate symbol underneath his right eye. Hes holding a small dagger in his right hand.
The background shows what’s left of a ruin.

Kicking off January 2026 with a new experimental piece ❤️

Digital illustration on vertical canvas
Theme: Fantasy / Dark fantasy
Character: My OC Lubi, he/him, transmasc

The piece features a knee-up portrait of a character drawing in an experimental style using a lot of lasso tool-drawn surfaces and layer settings to achieve its effect. The piece has a dark colour palette of black, purple, green and red. It features a character wearing nothing but a black loin cloth and a pigface bascinet styled helmet. The helmet has a heart drawn over it, and a single large eye with a black pupil. On the back of the helmet, his fire-hair is flowing about.
His skin is a dark mossy green, highlighted in grey with the highlights occasionally displaying a pink edge. He has notable top surgery scars, and a cute graphic heart shape on his chest. The loin cloth has a couple of orange spikes on the side, as if it had a belt. He is holding a sword in his right hand, it has a shiny red handle and a dark blade with a multi-coloured shine on it.

The background is an abstract pattern of black, purple, dark yellow and blue. There is a vertical line of red hearts on the upper right side of the image, and another line on the bottom left side. The leftside hearts are grey, with only the topmost being red.

The piece has a heavy texture overlay which gives it an aged appearance.

4 months into the art restoration voluntary internship year and while it does interest me, i don’t think it’s the direction i’ll strive for. In itself a helpful realization, but i’m so torn wether to study illustration or personal art related stuff and if i will get burnt out so bad

no one @ work today. going to work overtime by spending the entire time drawing and doing what I want

i’m going to have to send my commissioner a ton of alternate versions and various different sketches along with the og art piece bc art block fucked me these past months ⚰️ (image unrelated)

Anyways, i drove to St. Gallen to observe the old abbey there bc its blueprint or something is allegedly the main ref/inspo for the fictional kiersau abbey in #Pentiment … according to some reddit post i found Leaving the swiss now, i don’t like it here anymore

Death In The Rose Garden, an old illustration. #traditional #traditionalart #art #illustration

Illustration of a young woman almost kneeling in midst of a lot of roses. She wears elegant clothes though her blouse is ripped on the left side of her torso and gently holds her heart in her left hand. Her other hand is impaled by the stem of a thorny rose.

Heidi took over in the '70s. It was Isao Takahata's breakout hit, with Hayao Miyazaki on staff. More classic shows followed. But TV anime was a brutal industry. Surviving it changed Miyazaki and Takahata and their styles, as we explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-pressu...
