My daughter has to go back into surgery today... her shunt is infected and it needs to come out. Then they do antibiotics and later will have to do another surgery to replace the shunt. ):

I'm making a name banner for my daughter and it's so close to being done. We all got sick plus the craziness of going back and fourth between home and the hospital, no progress has been made recently. It doesn't help that I've been playing Mario Wonder during ny downtime lol. Here is one letter tho!

September is hydrocephalus awareness month. This is the uncurable condition my daughter developed from her brain bleed - excess fluid in the brain. She required a permanent shunt to help drain the excess fluid from her brain, and she will have it for life. Spread awareness to help find a cure!

Thought I'd give updates on my daughter. She's had a rocky first month of life - a collapsed lung and damaged nodules which put her on a ventilator for a while, then a grade 3 brain bleed which required surgery. She's stable now and all things considered is doing well. Hopefully from here on it's ⬆️

Thank you! She was born at 27 weeks so she's got lots of growing to do. Unfortunately she's been on a ventilator since day 1 but hopefully soon she'll be able to come off of it. I did get to hold her today so that was nice! She'll likely be here a few months but is getting great care

Life update: I actually considered telling everyone that I was expecting my second child, but I am bad at providing timely updates. Well, things happened quickly and I gave birth on 7/10. She's doing pretty well for being so premature and will stay in the nicu for a while 👶
