Some pictures from the Stars Reach Pre-Alpha, hopping in and getting to get in voice with some of the folks at Playable Worlds was a LOT of fun tonight! Even If I was a few hours late! I REALLY enjoy what I see so far, even if getting my hands on materials has been a challenge! #StarsReach

Oh, are we cool to post Screenshots of this? I've been so focused on learning the mechanics and trying to find stuff to break I have forgotten to take screenshots! That and I tend to not talk about stuff unless I'm told I am allowed to. Better safe than sorry!

Okay, watching a Vtuber on Twitch right now with a couple thousand viewers and of the flood of chatters there was one dude who made a big show of being "Done trying to get a response from you." And using the !lurk command. Hot take, you are not owed a response from a streamer, don't do this.

I am tempted to log in to Galaxies, crank up all the graphics settings I normally keep on the lower end and taking Screenshots of Iconic locations in the #starwars universe you can find in-game.

Galaxies was Amazing, flurry from PRE-CU to NGE, Bria from 05 to 08, Starsider from 08 to 11. Still poke about some of the emulators. Raph Koster the creative director of Galaxies is working on a game called Star's Reach that looks interesting. But Galaxies was something else.

and a couple more screenshots of the other room in the house, it is a small, two room deal, I like it, largely because it's a pain in the ass to get to when driving to it. But I have stuff in-game set up so I can get to all of my houses really quickly.

Decided to space out the posts so they aren't as spammy, Next up is my place on Dantooine in Star Wars Galaxies Legends, it's a small retreat one of my characters goes to when he wants to get away from everything, or needs to hide. Located not far from the ruins of an old Jedi Temple. #starwars

Here are some screenshots of Star Wars Galaxies taken today via the SWGLegends server, sadly I have no screenshots of live, but I figured I would share places I have decorated using the in-game Player Housing system. These are of a series of buildings I have on Naboo.

When people say blue sky’s dead what they mean is they show up expecting instant followers based on pre existing fame (usually gained from bullshit rage farming) and leave when they don’t get it Or B, they realize the culture here doesn’t thrive off of bullshit rage farming nor reward it and leave.

I tried that Wendy's Krabby Patty Kollab burger, it was okay but nothing to write home about. The "Krabby patty sauce" was either Thousand Island dressing or some mix of ketchup and mayonnaise. I didn't bother with the frosty because it didn't really intrigue me. I prefer mom-and-pop shops.

I was doing the rebel themepark on all three characters, as in SWGLegends you could have up to three characters online at once, so I figured I would group them up and have them do the content all at the same time with the in-game macro system.

I have a lot of screenshots up of my character when he was an Imperial, so I figured I should include one when he finally opted to switch sides, At first he was all in on The Empire keeping the galaxy safe, as he spent more years in the Imperial Military, eventually opening his eyes to reality.

I put in a lot of effort on SWGLegends to get five identical sets of armor in Star Wars Galaxies. I managed to get all five of my characters in one screenshot, largely because there is a delay between logging out of a character and their disappearance from the world. #starwars

I once made a character in the Crusader Kings 2 #elderscrolls mod Elder Kings named Thorald Hate-Basket, who was an absolutely insane Nord man with an irrational, and terribly unhealthy hatred of baskets. He somehow had kids his wife was smarter than him. He ended up vanishing through a portal.

There wasn't really any organized rebel groups on the server, as one major downside is that the community is very clique-ish, each group mostly stuck to themselves, not really interacting with others. The only other communities on the server either didn't want us around, or were actively avoided.

000

Tenkata @tenkata.bsky.social · 25/10/2024

Although I am no longer apart of the community that ran this, this story will always be a highlight of my time there. Everyone got input as to what they wanted their character to get out of it, and it brought various groups together, Pilots, Stormtroopers, Inquisitors, ISB, Imperial Intelligence.

100

Tenkata @tenkata.bsky.social · 25/10/2024

At the end of the day, The Empire managed to secure it, Palpatine learned what he needed, and the shard was broken apart, and the people involved got awarded medals, and the Inquisitors involved, each got a fragment of the Tear to put in their lightsabers.

100

Tenkata @tenkata.bsky.social · 25/10/2024

The SWGLegends Event Team got involved on several occasions to bring to life Jabba The Hutt, and Grand Admiral Thrawn. As the primary antagonist was a player within the community to volunteered to be the bad guy, and both The Empire, and Jabba wanted this Tear of Naboo for themselves.

Tenkata @tenkata.bsky.social · 25/10/2024

The server bases itself in the Expanded Universe, as the Roleplaying communities on most servers used that the basis for the lore. The basic premise of the story arc was "How did Palpatine learn Essence Transfer and transfer himself to a clone body as he was falling down a reactor shaft in ROTJ?"

100

Tenkata @tenkata.bsky.social · 25/10/2024

Here is a poster that was made by a member of the SWGLegends Imperial RP community, I can't remember their characters name, but this was a poster that was created after the conclusion of a big story arc called "The Tear of Naboo" arc. My character is the one in the back, behind the Twi'lek.

Here are some more screenshots of SWGLegends, I don't have the character limit to explain them all, but the one where you can see the UI is a screenshot from an event involving the battle of Restuss in 2022, every red dot was a player on the other side. Also note on the bottom right my fps #starwars

I wish I had saved more screenshots of Star Wars Galaxies when it was live, a sandbox MMORPG the likes of which the world had never seen before or since. The Creative Director, Raph Koster, is working with a team to make something similar that isn't Star Wars, but it won't be the same. #starwars

Also a bit I forgot to add! The alt text contains a brief description and some additional context for what is happening. For those familiar with the game, I played on Flurry as Teas'a Telmeana from 2004 to 2005 when the NGE was released, Bria from 2005 to 2008, and Starsider from 2008 until shutdown

These were two events celebrating the founding of our Guild's player city, the server's event coordinator team was awesome and showed up as Darth Vader in 2022, and Palpatine in 2023. I ended up leaving the guild in November of 2023 due to a disagreement I will not get into. These events were fun.

Figured I would post some screenshots of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, this is on an emulator server back in 2021, as the official servers for the game shut down back in 2011. This server is the Emulator Server SWGLegends. taken in 2022 and 2023 #StarWars #StarWarsGalaxies #SWGLegends 1/2

A picture of a video game, set in the Science Fiction universe of Star Wars, a military base set on a desert planet, comprised of grey, pre-fabricated structures, in a large, parade ground set in the center of the facility, a large array of Imperial Stormtroopers, pilots, and other military personnel stand at attention, awaiting the arrival of Darth Vader. The front of the pictures shows the view from behind five Inquisitors, one man clad in black and dark red armor, standing at the group's rear, the other four in fancy, dark robes. From right to left, there is a woman with shoulder-length hair in a dark red robe, to her left is a woman with short hair that comes down to the bottom of her neck, wearing a long, black cape. To her left, is a Twi'lek in a long, black robe, and at the very left of the group is a woman, with long black hair, and a black robe. At the center of this gathering of troops is a man in an officer's uniform, with a closed, metal, sealed helmet. Standing before a formation of troops at the center of the assembled force.

End description of the picture, begin the description of the background context:

This was at a gathering of A guild in an emulator of the old Star Wars MMO Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, on the SWGLegends emulator server. On the first anniversary of the founding of a player city belonging to the server's largest organized Imperial Roleplaying guild. We had a city before this one, that had ended up falling apart during a period of inactivity, this event had a member of the server's Event Coordinator team show up to the event as Darth Vader, who interacted with some of the folks in the guild and made a speech. The majority of the Stormtroopers seen here are NPCs placed via the game's Storyteller system that allows players to decorate player-run cities.

The scene is of the same miliary base described in the first picture, but later in the day, the armored man previously stood at the back of the group of robed Inquisitors in the first picture is now closer to the front, the picture being taken over his right shoulder. To his right, the forearm and leg of a soldier in bright white, gleaming armor with a black blaster rifle in his hands. The commander at the center of the first picture is now flanked from the rear to his left and right by two other individuals in officer uniforms, they stand before Darth Vader, in the middle of a conversation.

End of picture description, beginning of context: This was taken half an hour after the first picture, this event had a lot of things going on, as this was a collection of roleplayers, whose stated goal was to bring an as authentic as possible look of what life inside The military of the Expanded Universe. Palpatine Era, Galactic Empire was like. We had pilots, infantry, Logistics, Stormtroopers, Army troops, Recon people. A wide cast of characters that made up the Command element of what was, in character a far larger organization. A fact that seldom ever came up outside of organized story arcs. This guild called themselves the 23rd Imperial Campaign Legion, and we often found ourselves coordinating with other, smaller groups of Imperial Roleplayers who preferred to stay outside of the organized structure of the guild in question for one reason or another. We would have one more event much like this the next year in 2023 where Emperor Palpatine would show up.

A gathering of troops inside an assembly hall, dark grey walls surrounding four Imperial banners on the walls to the left and right, and at the front of an elevated stage with Emperor Palpatine standing in front of a replica of his throne. Facing outward to address the assembled troops. At the rear of the stage is a statue of Emperor Palpatine and another statue of the Imperial Insignia. The troops gathered are a total of thirteen in the picture itself, and a few more not in frame.

End of picture description, beginning context:

This is one of five screenshots I took of the second anniversary of our Guild's player city, as we were still the largest Imperial Roleplaying guild at the time, the server's event coordinators had one of their staff members show up as Emperor Palpatine. As the server's population is relatively small as far as MMOs go, considering this Emulator server Star Wars Galaxies: Legends at its peak had a total of two thousand people online at once, it was not much trouble to simply ask them to show up and arrange a small scale event like this,
