I'm not even expecting people to like it or say it's great, I just want some engagement! Some sign that says "oh another human being took time of their day to play this thing!" And if they hate it or think it's boring, to just say something!!!

I mean, it's nice that everyone's trying to come together and all, but if no one's playing the game, then what's the point of putting it out there? I can just keep it fro myself. It just saves a lot of grief, I think.

And then I just feel stupid, because of course why would some stranger on the internet care? How many of the game dev accounts that follow this blog are people that are actually curious about my game, and not just people trying to network in some way?

Guess how many downloads I got that day. Guess how many views. Guess how many times I was asked again about it. If you guessed 0 for all them, then congrats, you're on point

I sometimes think of this artist I supported back in the day, and how he said he valued my engagement, and when I told him I was making a video game he said "oh cool, you'll have to share it!" and I was like "yeah, I have a demo already! Go to my account and you can see it!"

Tempura Calipso @tempura-calipso.bsky.social · 17/11/2025

I mean, I don't owe anyone money. There is nobody getting ripped off. And all the lack of engagement does is just make me feel sad. Maybe it is fine just to create things for yourself or your friends, because at least it will be something you can share with people you trust and care about.

Maybe it's the lack of any proper sleep for a entire week speaking, but maybe I don't have to publish this video-game. Maybe I can just continue working on it for me, because it makes the brain go brrr when all the code comes together and the funny fellas I made up move around and have adventures

Didn't manage to get progress done in the game as quickly as I'd like, but I think I was trying to juggle too many stuff on January. I think I'll be able to plan things out more efficiently next month though, so that'll probably be another social media hiatus

Tempura Calipso @tempura-calipso.bsky.social · 21/12/2024

Gonna go on a bit of social media hiatus to focus more on my game. By the time I get back, I should have made some good progress. See ya!

Crochet Ouioui goes on a plasticine picnic! I know that there is a specific way to feed Ouiouis, but perhaps a crochet-oui might have some differences... #Ouioui #fanart #amigurumi #crochet #plasticine #artsandcrafts

Photograph of a crochet Ouioui doll sitting on a small picnic blanket with plasticine shaped like several food items, such as peanuts, a hotdog, a hamburger, salad, an apple and a jar of pickles.

I think it's about time I introduce this boy to the world: a while back, I made my own crochet Ouioui, and this lil guy has been keeping me company ever since. He has a Secret attribute, but that will be revealed later. #Ouioui #crochet #amigurumi #fanart

I finished DP2 about a month back, VERY rough game, but it had some parts I really liked, and Aaliyah being an expert hater is one of the best (original image from FallenChungus) #deadlypremonition #FrancisZachMorgan #AaliyahDavis #DP2:ABlessingInDisguise

Black and white comic of an enraged woman (Aaliyah Davis) wishing death upon an elderly man afflicted with cancer (Francis Zach Morgan) for expressing his fondness for the concept of clocks and time.

It's been almost a month since I launched the demo! I've been taking a break from it, but I want to resume it now in mid-December. Time to get back to work! #gamedev#indiedev#gamemaker#TIFT

I think I am going to post some of my old art! I've been re-visiting some of it, and I still like some pieces of it.

My apologies to all the nice people who liked the previous post! I just couldn't have an announcement about a game demo if the links to it did not work!

Working on The Intergalactic Field Trip, a loving parody of old PC edutainment games, starring 4 colorful yet dubious lads. If you're curious, you can try out the current demo! itchio: tempuracalipso.itch.io/the-intergal... GameJolt: gamejolt.com/games/the-in... #gamedev#indiedev#gamemaker#TIFT

Oh no! I just realized the links to my demo post are broken! How embarrassing, I must re-post it correctly!

I also made another game last year- Day At the Nash. This one is more of a real edutainment game, insofar that it attempts to teach actual tidbits of Nature, Astronomy, etc. itchio: tempuracalipso.itch.io/day-at-the-n... GameJolt: gamejolt.com/games/day-at... #rpgmaker#gamedev#indiedev#VXAce

Ok, I think I should make an intro post of my own about now! Hi, I'm just a random nerd who likes cute stuff, spooky stuff, and a mixture of the two. Currently developing a videogame called The Intergalactic Field Trip, featuring weird lads and nostalgia for edutainment games.
