One last #BlackHistoryMonth thing that blew my mind..... TIL about Gladys West! This soul sista was a mathematician and programmer who's work to create an accurate model of the Earth led to the development of GPS and the WGS84 geocentric coordinate system that I use almost every dayum day! #blackSky

Shot out to Ms. West! Its so stupid that we dont give our brilliant inventors, engineers, and mathematicians the same love that we give to athletes. This lady's work led directly to the the development of the WGS84 series of equations that I use frequently to calculate positions of aircraft and other objects on and above the surface of the earth. Woooooow! I honestly cant explain the intricacies of it but I know that the equations exist and that they work 😅 Thank you, Ms West!!
