(I also know i'm late) I know the image of nuclear Armageddon are terrifying but speaking of nostalgia for a time of limited wars and inconceivable catastrophe when the atomic start less than 10y after WWII seems just one tiny bit insane.

I wasn't doubting that Glucksmann was going to win the socialist primary but that it was so clear cut that there not even going to be a second round is a surprise.

Raphaël Glucksmann wins French center-left presidential primary
The founder of Place Publique won 66.13% of the vote in a primary organized by the Socialists and their center-left allies.

Bluesky being the website for affluent 38 year olds who gaslight zoomers about their economic prospects is honestly genuinely funny as a punch line

To be less quipy, at the end even being venal between this midterm and the fact that the GOP are still going to be incumbent two year from now there is very good chance they do the voting. I'd say 6 year is plenty of time to make things fait accompli.

This is of course from a place that worry much less about the conspiracy and more about the fact that acknowledging MAHA might bring life to a "movement" that have looked more like a marketing stunt to get "crunchy lifestyle" and rabbid anti-vax into one nice GOP voting block.
110
temphorraire.bsky.social @temphorraire.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
As far as MAHA taking somewhat standard progressive policy plank and trying to coat them is "fine". AOC meeting with influencers (i mean come on Moms Across America is a obvious conservative non-profit) is much less forgivable.

One of the reason i'm so "don't be so definitive" now and i tell people to wait for the January polls is that it's the period where people will start tunning in and go "oh shit" before adjusting their vote.
Post january 2022 regression of polls. At about the March mark Le Pen Macron and Melenchon start steadily rising and Zemmour/Pecresse start collapsing. Macron support wither after his march peak (he end up first). Courtesy of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_French_presidential_election#/media/File:Opinion_polls_France_2022.svg

You have no idea how much work didn't go into it. Even if i would advise people to wait for the January polls if they want to have a poll to really call how over it is.

Another case of this site not beating the allegation. (Tbf i'm not helping by using this site a lot to keep track of how US politically engaged left and center left people speak of their politics)
Screenshot of the Political Discourse & Global Affairs cluster, subject are either about Trump, US domestic politics or UK domestic and foreign politics. With the notable exception of Russia/Ukraine related issue and two sub-clusters one about Germany and the other about Carney.

Hope they managed to get data for a follow-up on the competition because i can all too easily see how the absurd sleaziness of DraftKings can serve as a shield for the rest. Especially as in article they show FanDuel handling the issue in a much better way.

Of course the cottage industry of self-centered westerners that make the domestic affairs of russia a pure product of "the west" FP must have helped. Kind of wish i had such an industry to cover for my fuck-ups seems handy.

I find it kind of a moot point. In the end this is mostly a case that russia inherited of most of the august coup plotters and sympathizers, both in how they ended up and how the post SU era went. (And we can still see now how frightfully able to hide their responsibility for everything they are)

They still do the work to turn far-right activity from fait divers to political force. Both by direct incitement and by serving as source of far-right propaganda to launder into the mainstream. (In short yes)

Got some reservation about how much you can do this with presidential system + primaries, really, with the no way to really make it a stepping stone toward a presidential run like it is for a premiership. Of course it is not a rebuttal of your call for preparing legislation for 2028.

Some random rambling, but the funny thing with GDPR is that it does allow you to collect data without an explicit banner but thinking about whether or not you're authorized to do it is work. (Tbf there also the aspect of annoying users in order to get them to be ok with rolling it back)

Yeah, obviously all the difficulty of the administration is because the global conspiracy against the white race is working hard to undermine. (I'm a bit afraid of this logic being too accurate to their mindset because it's also mean spiral into extremism in the face of adverse consequences).
