Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Every time I have attacked an existing code base with a new static analysis tool I've been swamped with issues. You truck through them eventually. Usually very few are exploitable issues, most are worth fixing, the real benefit comes when you are just doing static analysis on new code 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026This is exactly what algorithmic static code checkers do. E.g. cppcheck prints out a list of candidate bugs for you to review. GHAS does this too. It's pretty standard to install a new static checker get swamped with possibly maybe bugs, do some triage and attack the low hanging fruit and highs. 100
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026USA is far from the first. It happens regularly to governments to stupid, or with too much hubris, to study the fall of Rome. & journalists who can't see parallels in history are simply writers who don't read. 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026They brought it back already. What was Charlie Kirk's death, if not a public execution? 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Bsky is like dinner with hyperchondriacts: the majority of them trying to go viral and the rest are trying to be inflammatory. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Well that's a fine thing to say, Marcus darling, but you must have noticed that those that do, are themselves terribly thin skinned. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Yes, comedy back in the day didn't have a comments section. 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 09/10/2026If someone told me I had to take my shirt off on TV I would not eat between now and then. As a common courtesy. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 09/10/2026They did! It was called The Enlightenment. It's been down hill since then 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 09/10/2026With a little bit of support you'll soon be able to prove that people are wrong all the time. 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Fun fact: Leonardo de Carpio initially supported Project 25, but now it's 26 he doesn't. 020
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Look Victor, you are going to have to come to terms with the fact that "time alone to bond" was not a good idea with a Cat. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I think many people want something with a little bit of depth, even if the production is shiny 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026The reason: audiences are by and large more intelligent that Grauniad hacks. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I think cartoon-simple baddies is pisspoor writing. Depth to characters is not a bad thing, exploring motivations is something writers for intelligent audiences want to do. There's plenty of simplistic shite Nam films if that's what tickles you, but they doesn't get popular for a reason. 100
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Sales didn't rise, but profits were up? hmm I wonder how that works 🤔 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026"Consumer confidence" is simply the fact the people need to eat despite unjustifiable price rises. 100
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Google's YouTube makes me miss the days when, before watching a video, we were forced to watch that "Piracy in a crime" announcement. 010

Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I have Iranian fam in the UK, this kinda of click baity news article headline puts thier lives at risk. Try harder Grauniad 100
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Trump's 'Iran threat' because he has the same grasp of geography as an A+ student in the United States. "terrorists" discovered because they themselves called 999 (emergency services# This whole thing stinks of Trump shat himself and I trying to pretend the threat was real. 110

Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 06/10/2026A rated R (for language) film about Linus Torvalds: Management by Perkele 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I'll be honest, I didn't understand it either way until just now. Now I understand that what I always mean is that I have not been paying enough attention. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Probably because they ate both eyes of newt, all 10 toes of frog, and have ODed on wool of bat. 020
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I'm glad the violence got tuned down in this one. I find it hard in US films & books to identify with main characters that have gunned down 10 government officials going about there paid jobs. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 03/10/2026We found a simple solution to this problem Communicate properly: we split flirting to these four things Shining: being in a good mood yourself Clicking: connecting with people Flirting: sexually suggestive talk Wibble wobble: intent to fuck (Last word needs work) but these subdefinitions help 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Ok, cool, but I better warn you, I've already got heat. 021
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Side note: this ought to be something that LLMs are good at finding. I'm going to have a go at writing a local only (no datacenters, no privacy issues) solution for proof reading with AI. I can imagine that you don't need a frontier model for this kind of job: it's LLM basics. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 01/10/2026The first aid kit is for emergencies. The second aid kit is for when it's not really an emergency but another one is going to help. 010

Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026USA is so fucked up right now. Walking down the street talking is normal. People have done it since streets were invented. The phone is new but walking down the street talking is not. It just living life communicating with others while you do it. Stay at home if you can't stand that people exist. 110
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The biggest news here is that the GOP must be using sports matches for this purpose. Someone investigate. They are too stupid to make things up, they _always_ accuse people of stuff that they are doing themselves. 0181

Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Nope. You need to sort out the mess over there first. Fix the travel bans before you leave. 020
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Feel and fill do sound the same in many UK accents, and some sentences more than others. "I feel ill" is usually pronounced "I fill ill" "Fillin it" is quite common too. 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Naturalmente: Español, Portugues y Italiano son lenguas fonéticos. No existe este problema en muchos lenguas. I tipe as bad as I speek in Spanish 010
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Defo. Bare and bear gets me every single time. I believe this is not a bug, it's a feature: we don't read the letters in words, we read whole words and phrases at a time. 000
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026You need to set up web pages declaring your allegiances. From this side of the pond it looks like Musk and Theil are rigging the elections. You don't just need to vote you need to run your own counts. 131
Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Which country? In Spain doctors phone you up for this type of thing. Of course they don't need you credit card details in Spain, so maybe that is why? 000

Teknopaul @teknopaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Everybody has the right to vote in secret, but that doesn't mean you can't tell everyone how you vote. Now might be a good time for libs to set up community groups so they can contact each other and compare published results with what they collectively know the numbers should be. 000
