That's not true. You made that up. Also loads of the software I've worked on so far in a professional capacity has either been internal tooling or ultimately gone unreleased in favour of an alternative candidate. The study's authors had no way to see any of those projects in any company.

I just showed Opus 5.5 a picture of Welch Labs Perceptron because I want to help my descendants build a physical version. I told it I want to build a software version of it so I can figure out the wiring. With no other interaction and in less than 90 seconds it built this.

You're right, I spent 10 minutes skimming through the MIT paper and it makes me want to either teach or study at MIT because the paper positively details the opportunities and does not overstate the what it sees as the *potential* risks. The article just frames everything negatively.

For me kindness and compassion can't be conditional. Only applicable to "those that deserve it". Everyone arrived where they are via a long journey, one that was likely very different to mine. I can still believe in a cause or even fight it if it would help, I won't hate those I fight.
