One problem is that the PL have no jurisdiction outside of the PL. In most countries the local FA has control over all leagues. So in France Bordeaux had to restart in N2, roughly equivalent to Conference League North, or in their case West.

Well Mike Summerbee was a great player and he won lots of trophies with City. Probs similar to PD in terms of career but more of a legend at City because he played in their best team pre £££s.

I can't understand why the FA isn't involved. At the very least City have brought the game into disrepute. The FA have powers way beyond the PL. In France Bordeaux were busted down to non league. In Portugal, Boavista were closed down. The FA could impose sanctions of that order.

Which is what they were at the time the current owners bought the club. But historically, Man City were a much bigger club. They were a mainstay of the original first division. They won league titles and had a fabulous team in the 60s and 70s. I hope the owners are debarred but feel for the fans.

Last season Rice and Zubi were played into the ground. Rotation is the way to avoid the same thing happening again. Norgard wasn't trusted enough nor was MLS until the run in. So 4 potential starters for 2 spots is ideal plus Merino as super sub.

Yes, I agree. Let's say £5 million per club per year. So £100 million per year for EPL. I think most clubs would be ok with that. If found guilty, City would have to pay the EPL's legal costs and could face damages suits from many clubs. A big IF I know but worth pursuing the charges IMO.

Olly, I think it's slightly different in that the EPL is self-financed from TV revenues etc. The distribution to clubs is from the balance after EPL expenses inc legal.

Just watched the presser. Lots of questions from the English press, a few in Spanish (Marca) and at least one Latin American. One from Norway BUT none from France. Mikel is a French speaking former PSG player so I was surprised. Surely some French journos were there? Draw your own conclusions.
