That’s all I know! Sad about SUICA Penguin, but it gave me a little kick to learn about the artist, and feel some happiness that her penguins live on… on planes not trains

Chiharu Sakazaki also designed Chibi Godzilla!! And has done one collab with Pokemon!

You may have seen that Haneda airport just announced a new Penguin mascot, ALSO designed by Chiharu Sakazaki lol I’m sad to lose SUICA Penguin, but I’m glad she found a way to keep the spirit alive. It’s also a hilarious move to announce the week SUICA announced the replacement mascot designs

Sad about SUICA Penguin? Me too! BUT FYI: This is Chiharu Sakazaki, the artist who designed SUICA! She kept the rights to SUICA Penguin, and the license deal is expiring. Perhaps they couldn’t agree on a fee. BUT heres more about her…

Sad for the Russian folks who might have felt seen by our game. Someone in their government may have just done a sweep of the LGBTQ+ tag on Steam and issued bans. Here's hoping more of you don't wake up to a ban 🤍

My most valuable takeaway from this was learning that two people dear to me also make great creative partners. 12 weeks of writing, filming, plotting & rehearsing got us a show we’re damn proud of. With luck, you’ll suffer us again 😈 @karriebear.bsky.social @robdubbin.bsky.social

Can’t believe we pulled this off, that so many of you told us in superlatives you loved it, that I believe you, that we ended on time, that this is a part of the grand show that has been my career making games and celebrating friends! + Andy Schatz, who hosted my first IGFs, let us kill him onstage

140

Teddy Dief @teddydief.com · 23/03/2026

My first GDC 2008 I attended in awe. 9 years later I made it onstage, when we won for Hyper Light Drifter! I’ve juried Narrative Award, was nominated for OFK…the IGFs are such a gravity well to me. Awards aren’t everything, but they can be weighty punctuation marks along our journey making games

Teddy Dief @teddydief.com · 23/03/2026

We wrote/directed the IGF Awards! Taking the reins was a Herculean task, bestowed on me by our host, my co-director & my love @karriebear.bsky.social + GDC board who trusted her to assemble a team. Our 1st call was @robdubbin.bsky.social whose seasoned skill in comedy & shows put wind in our sails🧵
