Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 30/09/2026For my "agent skill month" posts in october, I needed an editorial calendar with the related copilot sessions. So I asked github copilot to create a canvas for me. #GithubCopilotApp #GitHub 000
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 25/09/2026/ask (ot its alias /btw) is one of the slash command I've started to use more and more to ask a question to github copilot without interrupting the model thinking. Nice little tip. #githubcopilotapp 000

Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Canvas in GitHub Copilot App are very nice. Being able to interact both ways is a game changer. I asked Copilot to find how was working somehting in the code, then open in the buitl-in editor canvas the file to check the code myself. #githubcopilotapp 000
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 23/09/2026@scott.hanselman.com I've just seen the replay of the keynote you gave in July at Avanade for Orange Day. Amazing talk 👍. I could not attend live; I was on paternity leave 🍼. Did you give a public version of this talk at another event so I can share the replay with people outside of Avanade? 010
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Thanks for the heads-up, but that was indeed my intention 🤣. #GitHubCopilot 000
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026This opens the door to extending our tools ephemerally—just for the duration of a session, for a one-off need. #IDE #VisualStudioCode #GitHubCopilotApp 000
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026We will obviously be able to integrate tools like Azure DevOps or Jira, but also create our own. The complexity of building an extension isn't even a question anymore: with just a slash command, the agent builds and uses it live without restarting the app. 110
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026The real shift I see is with examples like the GitHub Copilot App canvases. Not only does this enrich our ADE's interface, but agents can also interact directly with the canvas. 100
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Now, ADEs (Agentic Development Environments) are sparking the next paradigm shift. With MCP (Model Context Protocol), we aren’t building extensions for human clicks anymore. We’re exposing tools to agents. And with MCP Apps, agents can even summon interactive dynamic UIs on the fly. 100
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Then LSP changed everything. Instead of rebuilding language support for every single editor, tooling was written once and worked everywhere. 100
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026How we extend dev tools has completely changed over the last decade. We all remember buggy plugins freezing Visual Studio or locking up JetBrains IDEs. Moving extensions out-of-process finally solved stability, while VS Code proved building an extension could be fast and accessible. 100
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Swapped Netflix this weekend for “The Story of VS Code | Official Documentary” and have zero regrets. Whether you use it or not, its tech impact is wild: LSP, Monaco, remote dev, accessibility... If you work in tech, give it a watch. Great storytelling, learned a ton. 📺 #vscode @vscode.dev 000
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 05/09/2026When I started using GitHub Copilot App in preview a few months ago, it was to easily run and manage multiple sessions in parrallel. Now, thanks to canvas, GitHub Copilot can do anything. Here I'm using it to run in an Android emulator the mobile app I just developed. #GitHubCopilotApp #github 020
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I stopped using GitHub Copilot App for a month and half because I stopped working with the arrival of my newborn. I've just reopened it today because I was curious, I am so amazed by all the changes. This new insights tab looks good and I can't wait to have fun with the customize section. #github 020
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Très intéressant comme article, ça me fait me questionner sur mon utilisation des skills. 020
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Between 2 bottles for my baby 🍼, this is how I built an app to track feeds and weight all from my mobile using GitHub mobile app. #github 000
Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 24/07/2026I became a dad for the second time 2 weeks ago. I needed to keep track of the bottles my child drinks and his weight. So between feeds, I used Copilot cloud agent to create a web app for that. Everything was done using GitHub mobile app, nothing else. techwatching.github.io/new-parents-... #githubtechwatching.github.ioLittle Sips — Bottle feed trackerA private, browser-based bottle feed and baby weight tracker. 000

Alexandre Nédélec @techwatching.bsky.social · 19/06/2026I needed a SQL Server database to test something. VS Code mssql extension could create a local sql server container for me but it does not work with podman. The wizard to create an Azure SQL Database was glitchy. In the end, best solution was to use aspire, in few minutes I had my database ready. 161
