he was an interesting filmmaker but I feel like he did trend into shock at times which I find tiresome. Mama Roma is one of his more critically acclaimed films and one of the films that cut away from glam to show the realities of working class life also Anna Magnani is a great actor.

it's not excessively violent tbh there are a handful of scuffles and very fake looking blood but it's a lot more meditative... in that way it reminded me a bit of the colour of pomegranates. One of the critiques of its day was that the story structure was too unconventional.

The costuming work of Piero Tosi on Medea (1969) there's so much more I could add but there were some pieces I particularly liked.

ah yeah maybe that was the wrong metaphor to use just made me feel selfish complaining with everything happening but it's all connected It's crazy because the visuals are usually what draw people... it's a visual heavy media
