Aion 2 is probably the best thing to release in the MMO space in a long, long time. Really enjoying the game so far! Also very much shows off what Unreal Engine 5 is currently capable of for this type of gameplay.

If your overlay/widgets/plugins break after an update, that's not a reason to revert back....you should be reaching out to the person/developer of said overlay/widget/plugin for an update, because these CVEs are big deals.

ELI5: there's an exploit in browser in plugin **older** versions of OBS. That said, "annoying" OBS updates happen for a reason! Always update when prompted, unless you have a good reason not to (your overlay breaking is not one, see next post) Updates normally have security fixes, hence, do them!

My personal roadmap after all this (and getting it going for my players) is to start fleshing out my mini-expac's worth of story content, including a new zone(s) and dungeon(s)!!! That part is obv the largest undertaking! I've been learning the various modding community tools, it's all really cool!

This all is already on top of the launcher application I designed in C#.Net 8/WinForms (will be migrating it to using the Uno Platform soon). This is paired with a mostly secure (lol) NodeJS serverside content delivery API, and a custom versioning manifest system + internal tool to generate them!

Eventually I'll be building in a Gacha "gear chest" system within the in-game Store that will use additional in-game currencies, because at this rate, it only seems logical (and funny!) given the amount of work I'm putting into these systems, haha.

So far extension-wise, I've built a small database module that is specifically functions for manipulating the custom, server managed in-game currencies that are used by the Battle Pass and in-game Store (using the in-game currencies, obv no real money bc I'm not that dumb! :giggle: )

The water shader turned out amazing! It currently features water caustics, reflections, and slightly better underwater shader effects. It also touches slime (Undercity, etc) and magma/lava to a degree, at least giving them a little more "punch".
