You own a Ferrari.
You pull up to a restaurant and hand the keys to the valet.
You've given him permission to PARK your car.
That's it.
Does that mean he can take your Ferrari off the property for a joyride?
Can he drive it over to another business and hand the keys to another valet?
Can THAT guy decide to take your Ferrari to Vegas with his buddies?
Can they race it around, slam it into curbs, scrape it against walls, damage the tires, then hand the keys to their drunk and drugged-out friends so everybody gets a turn?
And when they finally CRASH your Ferrari and it has to be towed back to you... would anybody seriously look at you, the registered owner, and say:
"Well, what did you expect? You drive a flashy car. Of course guys were going to want a turn."
NO.
You gave one person permission to do ONE specific thing with your car.
You did not give him permission to take it somewhere else.
You did not give him permission to hand it to someone else.
You did not give anyone else permission to use it.
And you sure as hell didn't consent to what happened afterward.
Now replace the Ferrari with a woman's BODY.
Because apparently, for some people, consent becomes easier to understand when we're talking about a car.

When I look at Jesus, I see him drawing near to people in some of the darkest, loneliest moments of their lives. People carrying shame, suffering, rejection, and burdens others had already decided were their own fault.
He touched people with leprosy. He spoke with a Samaritan woman whose relationship history he knew. He interrupted the condemnation of a woman caught in adultery.
What we don’t hear him say is, “Well, what did you expect?” We don’t see him treating their suffering as something they deserved or making compassion conditional on a life he could approve of.
Jesus could call people toward change while protecting their dignity. He could tell the truth without humiliation. His mercy never required him to pretend that everything was right, and his righteousness never required him to be cruel.
We don’t know every circumstance behind the lives of the people he encountered. Neither do we know the whole story of the person whose pain we are judging today. But we know enough about Jesus to ask how he would have us respond.
When our first response to someone’s suffering is to explain why they brought it upon themselves, we have some soul-searching to do. Especially when we use their choices to excuse someone else’s cruelty.
Are we drawing near? Are we listening? Are we protecting their dignity? Or are we adding our voices to the crowd already condemning them?
If Jesus is our rabbi, then his way of treating people must shape ours. We cannot simply claim his name. We have to ask whether we are following in his footsteps.

I make my own espresso and my phone was almost the cheapest I could find at $200 [definitely a need for work and otherwise, old one is 6 years old]. I can't afford a house. People need to leave the Zoomers alone.

Yeah, those were the Temu of fruit snacks. We had Sunkist because I grew up in California. My absolute favorite was cherry. It sparkled like a gem. If you held them up to the sun they glowed because they were more translucent than they look in this picture:
