For those who don't get the joke: Trump kindly asked Google Maps to rename the Gulf of Mexico. It shall soon be known as the Gulf of America. The US is now classified as a ‘sensitive country’ alongside China and Russia in Google.

i'm excited to finally see this out in mSphere. we worked with @teagueo.bsky.social and @batconintl.bsky.social to characterize novel blood bacteria of Mexican free-tailed bats in the US and showcase seasonal infection in our longitudinally sampled Oklahoma colony. journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/...

Absolutely huge news for amphibian conservation. The lethal fungus Bd has been causing huge and steady declines in frogs over the last decades, so seeing resistant populations establishing post-reintroduction is really fantastic. 🧪 🐸 🌎
