A dark blue illustration with handwritten white text reading, “You never know what someone might be carrying in the shadows of their life, and maybe that’s why some humans just love cats so much. Cats can see in the dark.” Below, a wide-eyed black cat peeks through a softly lit window with open shutters.

Irene is impressive on stage. I was in Tilburg 🇳🇱 last year, for the 30 years anniversary of Ayreon, and she was wonderful Maybe you like this song, with another incredibly gifted singer, Marcela Bovio. Arjen gathered so many talented musicians for his show and CDs 🤩

A surreal landscape features reddish-brown rocky terrain with clusters of spherical, metallic structures connected by spindly bridges and supports. The sky is filled with swirling clouds and distant planets or moons. At the top, stylized text reads 'Ayreon' in ornate lettering, and below it, 'Universal Migrator Part I & II' appears in block capitals.

#MusicHistory On this day 1985, The Cure released “Close to Me,” one of the band’s most enduring songs. The combination of Smith’s breathless vocals, Simon Gallup’s bass, handclaps, keyboards & the brass arrangement was unlike almost anything else on the radio in '85. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bjvf...

Discworld QOTD, from Sourcery

Discworld meme. On the left is Death, a skeleton with glowing blue eye sockets wearing a black robe. Death is petting a small kitten.

On the right is the text of the quote.

“I meant,” said Ipslore bitterly, “what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?’

Death thought about it.

CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

She is, although through Nightwish, she is more recognized. But that goes for her sister too. I saw them live with Ayreon / Star One. Both are like a force of nature 🔥. And the fabulous Anneke van Giersbergen was there too 💜✨🎶 (this video is from another concert).

Discworld QOTD, from Snuff

Aristocrats don't notice philosophical conundra. They just ignore them. Philosophy includes contemplating the possibility that you might be wrong, sir, and a real aristocrat knows that he is always right. It's not vanity, you understand, it's built-in absolute certainty. They may sometimes be as mad as a hatful of spoons, but they are always definitely and certainly mad.

A large, fluffy black cat with one visible, unimpressed eye peeks in from the lower-right corner of a textured mustard-yellow background. White handwritten text reads: “It’s okay to have an existential crisis if you must. But if you’re going to have one, have it during working hours. Never panic for free.”

Discworld QOTD, from Wyrd Sisters

Someone has to do it. It's all very well calling for eye of newt, but do you mean Common, Spotted or Great Crested? Which eye, anyway? Will tapioca do just as well? If we substitute egg white will the spell a) work b) fail or c) melt the bottom out of the cauldron? Goodie Whemper's curiosity about such things was huge and insatiable*.

* Nearly insatiable. It was probably satiated in her last flight to test whether a broomstick could survive having its bristles pulled out one by one in mid-air. According to the small black raven she had trained as a flight recorder, the answer was almost certainly no.
