There's a Greek/Mediterranean ingredient called mastic that's effectively pine sap. It's used in Turkish and Greek Christmas cooking and a few other recipes.
It tastes and smells like chewing on a pine tree.
And if you're dumb like me, you use a whole grain instead of ⅛th and make inedible food. 😅
