Steam and itch.io have removed thousands of video games in recent weeks deemed to be "adult content" in order to comply with strict rules from payment processors like Mastercard. These policies censor artists engaged in lawful speech. Mastercard shouldn't be the gatekeepers of our digital freedom.

Why did thousands of adult titles just disappear from the biggest PC gaming marketplaces?

Digital distribution platforms Steam and itch.io have tightened their rules about adult content – under pressure from payment processors. Why has this happened and where will it lead?

Some little friends I made a few years ago for an art trade. (I’m in the depths of sewing and creating new things for a big project and revisiting some old faves is helping the process… Also thought you might like to see!)

a photo on a pastel green background of a set of hand sewn felt characters on a little picnic blanket. Slightly larger of the two is a white mushroom character with a red and white cap wearing a green backpack, and a smaller one with a strawberry head and green leaves around its neck, both with sweet smiling little faces. The picnic blanket is made from a vintage strawberry print fabric with red pompom trim, and there are teeny tiny felt strawberries strewn about.

I don’t do a lot of scripted stuff- but if I did I think I would want to adlib or constantly be overlapping sounds. I really dislike when dialogue doesn’t sound authentic, which I think relies on chemistry first, but also intentionality around how you want your play to manifest to others

110

KING TAY 👑 of the TAYWILD @tayvanbiljon.bsky.social · 09/11/2024

I really enjoy embodying characters, improv, realistic in character conversion (overlapping speech), and creative problem solving- aka if I have to play dnd I will probably use improvised weapon to death. Finding a new way to do things constantly is exciting to me. (And exploring big themes.)
