I agree with @rinvars.bsky.social to an extent. The wildcard in games has always been not what you the creator can do, but what the audience will go for. And yet, AI has the volume and speed advantage to make up for its lack of taste. It can churn faster than u to find that one weird hit game.

As creatives, we had a deal with capitalism: In exchange for doing their corporate logos, their ad jingles, their websites, their branded games, etc, we would get to practice what we loved, make a living from it, and even sneak a bit of ourselves into the work. That deal is now broken. 1/2

Yeah that happens sometimes. I find it very tricky with my kids, where I want to encourage them to take lessons for things they are passionate about, but also worry it might turn them off. So far they've steadfastly refused art or music lessons.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but do not trust AI summaries of emails. I had my first case of Gemini summarizing my email messages to someone and presenting a 100% opposing idea of what I actually said. Now they are mad at me because of what the AI told them I said.
