It's the kind of auroras right now where it just looks like a greenish smudge to your eyes, but then you take a photo and it's ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE Please enjoy this lovely instrument (a camera) that lets us see a bunch of colours too faint for our eyeballs!
A nighttime scene, with silhouetted trees in the lower corners of the photos, and bright green auroras across the horizon, with some pink and red pillars above, almost blocking the Milky Way, visible vertically across the sky.Same idea as the previous photo, but now the green in the lower part of the sky is also reflected by a small pond. More bright green auroras with red and pink pillars above, the Milky Way sticking up out of the middle, and a bit of green reflected in a small pond with silhouetted trees.

RFC 8489: Session Traversal Utilities for NAT (STUN)
Session Traversal Utilities for NAT (STUN) is a protocol that serves as a tool for other protocols in dealing with NAT traversal. It can be used by an endpoint to determine the IP address and port allocated to it by a NAT. It can also be used to check connectivity between two endpoints and as a keep-alive protocol to maintain NAT bindings. STUN works with many existing NATs and does not require any special behavior from them. STUN is not a NAT traversal solution by itself. Rather, it is a tool to be used in the context of a NAT traversal solution. This document obsoletes RFC 5389.

I think this was when React was still pretending to be just a smol UI library and Redux was cool and the reasons for avoiding JSX were that it's non standard and needs extra build tools. Fair point about JSX, but even back then, using a heavy framework like React seemed silly to me.

Replacing the WebSocket with a unix socket, then using blocking Json-rpc instead of Vite's tangle of promise chains resolved the issue. If any #gnome/#gjs/#glib people know exactly what was going wrong I'd be delighted to hear!

And gjs does not like this AsyncFunction trick :(. It seems to fuck up the main loop context or something so I'm back to writing to temp files. I'm overloading the DevEnvironment.fetchModule method to mark all modules as external and replace the URL with `file://` urls to the transformed temp […]

Thinking of updating and polishing up this Vite plugin for making GTK apps with Vue that I wrote way back, but with JSX and Adwaita. Then I could translate my browser based video editor into a #gnome app with #GStreamer instead of WebCodecs?
