Oh yeah, I should do that 9 games thing

9 games that shaped me: Illusion of Gaia, Tetris, Pokemon, Super Mario World, Link’s Awakening, Castelvania Symphony of the Night, Kingdom Hearts Sonic Adventure 2, Picross 3D

Feel bad passing up on the Gaia Edition given my history with this series, but I ain’t got infinite money and I just dropped a ton on Zelda and Metroid. Hopefully Clear River can make Soul Blazer and *especially* Illusion of Gaia happen.

I think Super Mario Galaxy 1 is poorly paced, with mediocre levels, and a pointless hub. It’s the worst 3D Mario. Super Mario Galaxy 2 fixed all my issues and is a far superior game in every regard, except for there not being enough Rosalina.

Might check out the sale tomorrow, but I can’t imagine ever going back to the CR store after this point. Between this and the PlayStation debacle, Sony’s desire for a monopoly couldn’t be more opaque. So glad MediaOCD’s store has been doing well.

Yuji Ohno was one of the very best to ever do it. Without him, I wouldn’t have fallen head over heels for Lupin. My life wouldn’t be the same without being so taken by that iconic theme. His work on that series and beyond mean more to me than words can describe. Rest in peace, king.

Ohno lived a long life, and left behind an incredible legacy of music to remember him by. It’s awful that you’re gone, but thank you Ohno for the incredible joy your work has brought us.

What does “definitive millennial song” mean, because I turn 40 this year and I don’t know these songs. Hell, I’ve only even heard of one of these artists.

So I finally found the candy that @sonicmega.bsky.social has been raving about at my local Kroger, and *nothing* could have prepared me for how intensely sweet these are. I don’t think I’ve had a candy I could compare this to. So far I like the red grapes best. Hoping I come across more flavors.

Conservatism is wrong. All forms of it, all expressions of it. There is no healthy compromise with it. It is – inherently – a negative. Stop acting as if it is a reasonable, valuable belief system. It inherently devalues / alienates all deviant speech and ideology. It is anti-human.

Finally after a year and change, I wrapped up Lupin III Part 3. Good show for the most part, there’s some episodes where the production clearly went off the rails, particularly near the end. But the action and comedy are solid throughout. Now I just need to get through Part 2!

Love it when these three get together, it’s always a ton of fun. I also realized after listening to the episode that I actually have no familiarity with the Japanese OST at all. I should fix that.

Kinda bummed specials 2-4 aren’t getting individual releases so my collection looks consistent, but I’m glad we’re getting them on BD! Only two more specials that need the BD treatment now.

Really just not an exciting year for me on PS5. *Granted* I did not pick up Clair Obscure, and still need to pick up Octopath 0. But still.

Symphony of the Night was my most played game at 17 hours. I played 15 hours of Fantasian, but got bored and quit.

I played for 77 hours on my PS5 in 2025.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody affair was incredible. It’s the only way I want to watch this film in the future, so I really hope it gets a 4K release. Meanwhile, the Fortnite short they played at the end is the shittiest piece of slop I’ve seen all year. Unbelievable to me that this was made.

Hot Springs, AR has a place called Taco Pronto that has been around since 1969. Every time I visit, I stop in and I get a cheese-smothered burrito. It tastes like home.

Probably gonna have to stop collecting every physical Ys release. With three versions of this and four of Ys X, I can’t afford to buy these things just to have them. I’ll get the collector’s edition of this for Switch and call it a day.

Tay @tay120n64.bsky.social · 27/10/2025

I would rather the series permanently end with The Lost Age if it meant Dark Dawn didn’t exist. I wouldn’t mind it so much if we kept getting new games, but to have a whole RPG where nothing happens then end on an unresolved cliffhanger is ridiculous.

Without question, this is my favorite One Piece OP. I adore the song, I adore the visuals, and I adore both Long Ring Long Land and Water 7. It is, from what I can recall, also the only OP that features a cold open, and I *love* cold opens.

I like my PS5. I feel like I get a level of performance out of it that made the upgrade from PS4 worth it. Biggest issue with PS4/Switch was load times, and PS5/NS2 address that well enough. What does a PS6 have left to offer?
