Something I read today on Instagram: Embrace the exit So I shall...

I've been a bit quiet lately. Also taking a bit of a break from social media. But I'm doing OK. Something unexpected happened 3 weeks ago and honestly I think it was for the best. Currently focusing on some stuff I had been postponing. More news on that when it's relevant.

So I tried speedrunning an old Atari 2600 game. I used emulation though on the Steam Deck. I think I have world record. I will upload the video as soon as I can.

Last day of the Gentse Feesten. Been a long time since I was able to be here during this event. I highly recommend this over Tomorrowland. Gent will be my in my roots forever

In Madrid I had some US/GDQ vibes

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

And tomorrow... city 3 of 3.

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

The enshitification of apps is unreal. Opened the Uber app just to check on something and I got this. Good thing I didn't need a service right away...

You know why I will never root for Argentina? I gets kinda messy…

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

I have partially revived after SGDQ shenanigans. Both my flights had huge delays and yesterday I just took the day off to recharge. Travel day today. Gonna be in 3 cities this week. Oh dear. No time for post- #SGDQ26 depression

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

I was not able to speedrun my return home but I made it. I hope everyone made it safe too. See you all in 6 months!

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

The end of any GDQ event reminds me of the last scene of Lethal Weapon 4, where they are asked: “Are you guys friends?” And the reply is “No, we are family!”

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

It’s on! See you at both AGDQ and SGDQ 2027!

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

I can’t believe #SGDQ26 is on its last day. I feel I could’ve done much more but on the other hand I did spend more time with old friends and just doing things outside the event. Very grateful of all the experiences. Definitely coming back to any future GDQ event!

Congratulations to @fine-quality.website and @slyton101.bsky.social for their run of The Chaos Engine. It was to watch live even though I was barely staying awake. Go watch the VOD if you missed it. #SGDQ26 is soooooo fun!

One more game related news. I was playing Diablo 2 on my Steam Deck and oh boy does it bring back memories. Make sure you use the Proton Hotfix compatibility layer or you’ll get stuck with Battle net trying to connect.

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

I’m not into soccer games but Actua Soccer was one of my favorite childhood games that I played to death on my Mac. To my surprise Actua Soccer 2 is available on Steam. And yes, I tried it on the Steam Deck and it works perfectly. No widescreen support though but I love this.

Got my T-shirts ready for #SGDQ26. Time to make my luggage.

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 20/06/2026

2 more weeks to see most of my mates at #SGDQ26. I’m so ready! I wonder if security will ask if I’m going to watch a game from the world cup…

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

It’s so funny to see a VPN company be a sponsor of the World Cup. I’m using a VPN to watch the World Cup for free. Just had to pay for the VPN. Not the one that is sponsoring though 😉

Gotta love New York and New Yorkers! ❤️

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

Anyway, my interest has shifted to games and game development anyway. No plans on creating a game yet though. But I’m fascinated by the tech that exists.

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

Apple doing the AI things is making me kinda sick. Literally saying “intelligent platform”. Sure. The platform might be, meanwhile it’s making us devs dumber because we are going to embrace the tools but will forget about our OG skills. WWDC used to get me excited, that time has long passed.

Just finished Pragmata. What an amazing game. Really a masterpiece. I will always remember that Sunday when I decided to jump on the train. Glad I did. Consider me a HUGE FAN!

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

This game kicks hard. Love it. Great way to spend my Sunday #pragmata

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

15 mins into the game, now I understand all the fuzz. This game is amazing. Capcom you rock!

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

Alright, I joined the train. Just bought Pragmata so I guess that’s what I’m gonna do today…

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 23/04/2026

The internet is making me try Pragmata. Still unsure if I should get it for the Steam Deck or Xbox. Probably better experience on the Xbox…

Happy 50th birthday #Apple I remember my first Mac. It was a Performa 5200 running at 75Mhz I mostly played Spectre Supreme on it but I think it was where I learnt AppleScript

000

Taxxodium @taxxodium.bsky.social · 30/03/2026
