I finally got the shirt! Check my profile pic. But it was super expensive and the writing is already fading. So I decided to try building the idea you suggested. Do you know of creators and print shops that are willing to try this idea out? Elevator pitch rough draft: diylabel.tauheed-elahee.ca

For the longest time I shied away from low level programming. I always found it intimidating. It turns out it isn’t any harder than other programming. It’s just that everything written about it assumes too much. So here’s my attempt at an intro to machine code jimmyhmiller.com/machine-code...

I get that the blue check system and owning a domain are complementary. But an issue that does arise is on what basis blue checks are given. The focus on .ca domains is so that we can create a predictable solution for getting a blue check, since Canada is unique with having something like CIRA.

🇨🇦 Canadians deserve real verification on Bluesky. In #Canada, CIRA (Canadian Internet Registration Authority) already verifies: 📍 Canadian residency 🪪 Government-issued ID 🌐 Ownership of a .ca domain That’s trust — not a pay-for-play checkmark. Let’s get everyday Canadians verified on Bluesky.👇

I already did a month ago, when the first announcement was made. I also sent them physical mail and called them. The email and letter I sent them mentioned the benefits like increased trust and presence of .ca domains as good selling points. Email from April:
Email I tauheed-elahee.ca sent to CIRA.

Thank you for contacting CIRA. Your email has been received, and you will receive a response within two business days. The details of your enquiry are included below for your reference.

Reference number: 00676001
Subject: [EXT] Bluesky Verification and Blue Checkmark
Details: Hello CIRA,

Sorry about the last email, this time I'm sending it from the email address associated with my CIRA account.

I would like to have CIRA verify it's members on Bluesky. My understanding is that CIRA members have provide ID on sign up. So we already have a verification model in place. I would like to showcase this verification on Bluesky not only with a .ca domain but with the recognizable "blue checkmark". Since Bluesky will show the verifier, who will be @cira.ca, it will add to the internet presence of CIRA and strengthen the Canadian brand. This will allow the "blue checkmark" to be given to regular Canadians, an objection of the current system.

Currently Bluesky is not accepting applications for trusted verifiers, but @cira.ca can still make verification records. When CIRA applies and is accepted to be a trusted verifier all the verification records created by @cira.ca will then be shown on Bluesky as "blue checkmarks". My current understanding is derived from this exchange with @cred.blue, a person who made a tool to easily create verification records, (link: https://bsky.app/profile/tauheed-elahee.ca/post/3lnibfc3xrc2h)

I would like your feedback on this and the likelihood of CIRA to pursue this.
