just had a dream I was batman which sounds cool as fuck but it was actually really scary bc even my unconscious brain seems to know I'd be really, really bad at being batman

to me finding out the killers aren't british was akin to learning as a kid that your parents' legal names aren't mum and dad

idk why the internet is so opposed to level headed critique, like you can say the new sabrina carpenter album art reinforces some old fashioned sexist ideologies without saying she's single handedly setting back feminism decades, you can like and respect an artist and still criticise them like??

my hot take is that i kinda love free with ads streaming services, obviously I hate having ads shoved down my throat as much as anyone else but they kinda feel like the best current companion to a physical media collection, it's like catching a movie on tv but with more options

110

☆ jay ☆ @taromies.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

making peace with not liking fantasy genre media is potentially the most freeing thing that's ever happened to me

don't get me wrong twenty one pilots lyrics are peak "I'm 14 and this is deep" but they meant something to 17 year old me and who am I to tell little jay to feel embarrassed about that

I'm really hoping the tony blair/new labour edits I'm seeing on tiktok are all jokes or at least tongue-in-cheek bc the LAST thing we need is a new labour resurgence, we're already edging towards it and my socialist ass is sweating

I'm so relieved I wasn't the only one who found itv's oscars coverage to be a tough watch, elle osili-wood was the only one not being constantly obnoxious and demeaning towards the nominees while the other two just complained the whole time, like damn take a nap if you're gonna be grumpy 😭
