Five years ago this week the world lost a great historian and I lost the best person I ever knew. Historian, educator, and adventuress, Dr Lisa Nocks. For me it was only a few days ago.

Just a reminder this statement was said by a sitting Congressman to the public, Trump and his DOJ offered not one pushback, denial or lawsuit.. it’s still just sitting out there

@realDonaldTrump, most egregious draft dodger in American history wants an aircraft carrier named for him rather the true heroic combat veteran, #DoriMiller. #Hegseth while he did serve was a #REMF.

My favorite line from @Startrek is in episode 1:1 The Man Trap. Contemplating the death of a creature the last of its kind, Kirk gets philosophical. The last line of the episode. Looking pensive Spock ask Kirk what's wrong. He pauses then says, "I was just thinking about the Buffalo."

This week in 1978 my class was getting ready to graduate from tank school. We were issued our tank ribbons (they don't give these out any more). The cavalry was organized in 1776, they gave up their horses for tanks in 1917.

David Rohde says that the major logistics problems for the Navy largely come from the fact that the Navy's chief resupply station in the Gulf of Oman was completely destroyed in an Iranian attack, and Hegseth decided to keep it secret, from the public, Congress and the White House.

USS Lincoln wasn't resupplied because Hegseth 'hid' that Iran destroyed main U.S. base: Rohde
President Trump continues to say that Iran wants to make a deal to end the war and that the U.S. has control over the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the president downplayed concerns about the condition...

Dorie Miller was only allowed to work in a Navy mess due to segregation, but he leapt to work a gun when the attack happened. In sharp contrast, Donnie Trump got five medical deferments to keep from having to fight in Vietnam. The USS Bone Spurs doesn‘t really sing

@OxfordRetreat Years ago @docbotz and I discovered the Oxford Retreat. They had the best sausage and mash I had ever eaten. When I back they had stopped serving food. I was heart broken. Now they are serving food again. Physical issues prevent me from ever going back, however. Thanks!

What is really being hidden is that Trump won the election of 1836 by a landslide! Liberals then put in Martin Van Buren into office to bring in a Whig agenda. Take that swamp!

July 1978 on the Iron Curtain I was standing on the hood of a gun jeep staring through binoculars at a Czechoslovak guard tower. My buddy was standing next to me. We looked at each other, smiled, turned, bent over and pulled out pants down. The Czech guards took pictures. Good times!

Watching the #Startrek episode Plato's Stepchildren on @Metv. The episode is stolen by little person actor Micheal Dunn. His emotional dialogue about how the Platonians mistreat him is amazingly heartfelt and likely comes from personal experience. He went on to a career as character actor.

My father fought in the Korean war, he used to joke that three guys from the Ironbound went at the same time: him and two MPs (the war started exactly ten years to the day before I was born). Shrewd young whipper snapper loved to run and play But the draft board got him they inducted him today...

1978 my unit the 3/35 Armor, had the duty to guard the Bamberg 'Muna' for a week (the weapons storage facility). At 3am I found myself on an ammunition bunker in the freezing cold that housed the TACNUK weapons. I was listening to Alan Parsons 'I Robot'. I defecated on it which seemed appropriate.

I feel this tactic was inevitable as it is disgusting. The history of modern genocide (1500->) does have this loose trend of auxiliary cutthroats giving way to 19th cen. industrialization giving way to mechanized mass murder of the 20th. With drones and auto-turrets, someone was going to do this.
