I keep hearing myself complain about the lack of OWNING a thing these days. It is seriously cutting down on being able to learn new tools, enjoy the creative process, etc when you can't afford the subscription model after a layoff or while trying to break in to a sector.

Unpopular opinion, but... I like to code. By hand. Sometimes even on paper. I can write a webpage or create some tiny game in my notebook at lunch. No linter. No auto complete. No Claude. It's like taking a picture on film and seeing if it turns out later.

This beautiful boy crossed the rainbow bridge today. MacLeod was my sister's cat, but we lived together for so long he taught my boys how to open doors and find the tallest perch in the house. He was the bestest boy. Love em while they are with you. We do not deserve these blessings.
