Things that made me smile today.

Screenshot posted on Instagram of Kacey Musgraves dragging Kristi Noem.
Kristi's post says "I'll take Ella Langley over Kacey Musgraves any day. And if I'm choosin Texas, I'll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico."
Kacey quote posts saying I don't think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.

We saw the two Johns at a little place in California called Delfino Farms. First show after the pandemic hiatus and it was absolute magic.

We toured the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and they have Alabama's tour bus. It smells like my grandpa's basement.

I'm not sure it was the BEST but I saw Pearl Jam in 1992 with one of childhood besties and it is still such a huge core memory for me. My friend's brother was a freshman at KU and brought along a 13 and 14 year old. Found this photo on their archive concert page. 🤘

I read some great books in September. Lonesome Dove is now among the ranks of my favorite books. I have lots of other thoughts on the others here but can't fit them all in this post. I love reading because it builds empathy and imagination and challenges the way I think and see the world.

I've been carrying this around with me for years. We all tell ourselves stories. We fill in the blanks with assumptions. It's dangerous behavior. Don't believe everything you think.

It's been a minute since we've talked about music. I've been listening to one of my favorite album's from Lilly Hiatt and dancing to JBS to improve morale. Really like the latest from Medium Build and wish Katie Pruitt's latest was more of Mantras. I'm not gonna say I'm disappointed (but I am)

Music listening update for the week. In addition to Dolly I listened to the new Jayhawks album (so good!), a solo album from Riley Downing (so good!) and a couple favorites from earlier this year from Nathan Evans Fox and Bella White.
