Marvin Gaye's estate doesn't clear anything. They've famously denied Kanye West clearance in the past in a huge lawsuit, as well as many other artists. The fact that they gave Kendrick clearance speaks volumes.

I'm never deleting my Twitter account for two reasons... 1) So nobody can claim my name and impersonate me 2) In order to log in, Elon demands that I turn off 2 step verification as "that is for premium members" So I guess I'm just never logging in ever again.

I love how Drake is suing Kendrick for allegedly inflating the stream numbers of "Not Like Us"... ...But not for being called a pedophile. Cause then he might actually have to prove he isn't one. If he really was innocent, wouldn't it be much more straightforward to sue for defamation?

It's looking like my newest song "Sweet Nothings" might get about 1000 streams today alone. I can't believe how much people are enjoying this one. I am shocked. I am flabbergasted. Gobsmacked, if you will. This is completely "nutso-buttso" as we say in the industry open.spotify.com/track/6LsJw5...

I just grabbed all 22 plugins from Soundtoys for $200 with their Soundtoys 5 bundle. I've had my eye on decapitator, echoboy, and alterboy for quite a while. Devil-Loc and Crystallizer were two that I didn't know I needed. My mixes are about to be wild. So glad I caught that sale.

You remember those things called "hit clips" from the early 2000s? You had to buy little cartridges, and put them in a little hit clip player. And the cartridges would only hold about 60 seconds of a song. Yeah to me that was the pinnacle of success. I will never be a hit clip artist. Feels bad man

Mix tip: in case you are unaware, most modern EQs have a mono mode and a stereo mode. Meaning you can EQ just the center lane, or just the sides if you wish. Try throwing the low end of your bass in mono, and keep a bit of width in the mid range. Clever stuff.

I've got a long day of mixing ahead of me. I quite enjoy days where I've cleared all responsibilities other than working on music. I'm doing one for a client which I'm halfway through and sounding sick. Then I'm mixing down my next Spotify release. Something I've been sitting on for a while.
