John G. Trump did not invent radar, though he played a major role in developing and managing microwave radar systems during
World War II.

The problem with ITV trailing the film for a week is that the most controversial aspects of it have already been reported on, councillors have resigned, and it has already been reported on by the BBC multiple times. Here’s a selection I found from a quick search - is there anything new to report?

Nonsense
In the UK, geometric constructions involving inscribing and circumscribing a circle around triangles or polygons are taught at GCSE level (Key Stage 4), typically to students aged 14 to 16 (Years 10 and 11).

This topic is part of the "Geometry and Measures" section of the national curriculum under locus and ruler-and-compass constructions. Because it requires a solid understanding of perpendicular bisectors and angle bisectors, it is usually focused on heavily in Year 10 or 11, particularly for students sitting the Higher tier math papers.

We need to keep in mind she also thought Brexit was a success when she was in government so she may not have the best judgement! www.gov.uk/government/p...
Brexit was a resounding vote of confidence in the United Kingdom's future - our ability to forge a path to prosperity as a free, independent, sovereign nation. The British people's conviction that the UK would excel as masters of our own fate has paid dividends.

I didn’t have to scroll too far to find out this week’s theme
Matthew Syed says we need more bankruptcies and unemployment; unclear if this extends to Sunday Times columnists.

I do enjoy the weekly "what the fuck is Matthew Syed wittering about now" session.

The police were already there when the farmer called but didn’t stop the guys till after the call? Seems strange…
A farmer driving home in the early hours of

Sunday morning saw the vans, surrounded by

men in balaclavas, and alerted police at 1.36am.

However, The Times understands the authorities

were already on the scene by then because the

suspect had called nearly one hour earlier.

No Worthing #parkrun for the next five weeks due to heat network construction on the Prom. Typical - was planning to go for the first time in a couple of months 🙄
High Street Energy Hub
• Closure of filter lane for High Street MSCP filter lane closure. Two-way access will be maintained by removing the traffic island.
• Relocation of High Street bus stop - check the Stagecoach and Compass Travel websites for further information.
• Footpath diversion for pedestrians travelling along the west side of High Street.
Steyne Gardens
• Works will not commence until after the Worthing Food and Drink Festival on 12-13 September 2026.
• Northern section of Steyne Gardens occupied.
Normal access maintained to southern sections of the Gardens, including the Sensory Gardens.
Promenade
• Works area located on the western footpath of the Promenade.
• Access along the Promenade will be maintained, with clearly signed pedestrian routes provided throughout the works.
• Some localised restrictions and temporary changes to pedestrian routes may be required as the works progress.Worthing parkrun

The next phase of the Worthing Heat Network has started. The nature of this phase will mean major disruptions on small sections of the prom and the start of our course, meaning we have to pause our event for a while.
This is due to happen all the way up to October Half Term and will therefore require at least 5 weeks of cancellations.
Thankfully there are hundreds of parkruns all over the UK each Saturday so why not use this as an opportunity to tick off some of those tourism challenges.
We will provide further updates as soon as possible but in the meantime, we hope to see you at another local parkrun, and please consider some volunteer tourism too.

Parris on his 1985 London Marathon archive.is/g9Dcq
I remember that feeling from all the first five London
Marathons. I ran each one faster than the last until, at 35 in 1985, I ran my best ever*, doubted I could better it and quit.
Now it's clear that I shall never be prime minister or the governor of a small British colony, I can say with confidence that nothing — not even being elected to Parliament - will ever be the source of more ridiculous pride than my finishing time in the London Marathon 28 years ago.
It was the culmination of 12 years of training and tens of thousands of miles run. The effort was not aimed at keeping fit (all I have to show for it is two dodgy knees and the memory of pneumonia, caused by over-training in the cold and rain). No, there was a single aim - to record one, just one, top-class time in a world-class marathon, even if it killed me, a vow that I'd made at the age of 23 after finishing my first marathon, in Boston, in more than four hours.

This part tells us all we need to really know about Reform, doesn’t it?
"Detectives have assessed the information provided and determined that there are potential offences requiring investigation. The potential offences are similar in nature to matters already under investigation by the Met's special enquiry team relating to donations made to the same political party. As a result, these matters will form part of that ongoing investigation.
