I was just singing the praises of Deadwood yesterday, committing myself to a rewatch. Visited the town 15 years ago. Sad, weird little place.

Changing Frequencies
This coil was one of a set of coils used to tune the Crosley transmitters to a specific band of frequencies.
The transmitters were designed to operate over a range of frequencies from 5.5 MHz up to 21.5 MHz and were divided into six bands. To operate in a specific band a different set coils had to be installed in the transmitter. Other components had to be adjusted as well. It took 3 engineers about 10 minutes to retune a transmitter.

As a current Cleveland Circle resident and old map obsessive, you’ve accidentally stumbled across two of my interests.

Cleveland Circle used to be an actual traffic circle, the remains of which can be seen from an overhead view.

So the project hasn't been "disbanded," it's just gone?
A previous version of this article stated that the Harvard Slavery Remembrance Program had been disbanded. To clarify, according to a University spokesperson, the program has not been formally discontinued, though its employees and leaders have been laid off.

From a footnote:
The Special Counsel completed his work and submitted his final confidential report on January 7, 2025, and separated from the Department on January 10.
