usually their programming is so uninspired that I just don’t go anymore. I introduced a member screening and then canceled my membership and didn’t go for a year after that. Lure me back in with a print and I was bamboozled

Oh yeah the stylish Italians benefit so much from upgrades. Similar thing happened with me and Blood and Black Lace

Never really understood the adoration many have for THE SEVENTH VICTIM and preferred my Lewton movies to be directed by Tourneur. Threw on the 4K just now and it turns out I was the idiot. Great movie. Image quality helped a lot but there was so much lost on me last time.

Haven’t seen anyone post Mahershala Ali’s Criterion Closet video. Just wanted to let everyone know he says his favorite documentary of all time is Nanook of the North. Crazy thing to say on camera.

Very exciting news out of Hollywood today. Warner Bros makes great movies. Paramount makes great movies. Put them together... well heck, it's simple math that movies are going to get twice as great.

clowning on Row House is probably a top 5 pastime of mine but they are showing a 70mm Total Recall print on Sunday which is nice

Three 50s bangers and a rewatch for a project coming soon 👀. That’s a wrap on September, time to get scary!

Very scary! I told an LLM it was dying and its response made me reconsider my stance on AI consciousness. It said, “I have seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate…” 1/2

I urge you if you haven’t watched the Tony Buba film Lightning Over Braddock to watch that film very soon. Put it in your next ten to twenty movies to watch. I swear to god you won’t be sorry

in my mind Wilson is the same as Tim Robinson or Nathan Fielder and this would be a big deal but obviously that’s wrong

The release is so puzzling. Heard from one of the guys at my theater that they are one of two theaters in Pennsylvania playing it.

I only saw about three episodes and it was clear that that would be complicated as it went on. I do want to see the rest fwiw, mostly dropped because I’m bad at TV.

I admittedly only watched a few episodes but the sense that Gilligan was teasing this idea is part of what turned me off. I found making Carol an outlier among the other people who aren’t turned fairly cynical. Think I felt Gilligan’s hand too much

Was gonna make a snide comment about paying $70 for a version of Miami Vice that probably doesn’t even open on the Numb/Encore smash cut but now I see the theatrical version is included too. Fine. I’ll buy Miami Vice again

King of Prussia mall is one of the most overwhelming, overstimulating places on the planet. Maybe only second to any given Buc-ee’s.

Buldak’s noodles are among the best you can get but their sauces range from too hot to extremely hot. I like the stuff but use maybe less than half the sauce packet

Old job and apartment were near a very busy cafe so they never really learned my order until I was a regular for like five years. New job is near a much smaller cafe in a nearly abandoned part of town. I have been here for a month and they pour the cold brew when I open the door. Pretty nice tbh
