It’s been a cat flap disaster here this week. Ed could get back in the house, but couldn’t get out. Honestly the meowing we’ve had. 😿 It was two days of protest before I realised the issue. I’ve had the cat flap apart tonight, cleaning and inspecting. I think it’s ok now. We’ll know tomorrow. 😾

We decided to get new flooring in the lounge. Ripped up the old carpet, that’s been in since we bought the house, with a view to getting LVT laid. But, hang on, look at the lovely floorboards I didn’t realise we had.😯 Now considering sanding and keeping these as our floor… 🤔

It has been a testing 2-3 months. Unexpectedly, in different ways, my Dad & Uncle have died. I’ve planned 2 funerals & am working through both estates as Executor. Challenging is an understatement. In heartening news, we went out for a walk to High Force yesterday. Nature refreshes the soul.🌳🏞️

Double cat action in the living room. The one of the left was an inheritance from my Nan. As a kid my Nan asked us all what we wanted if she died. I said the cat. I wasn’t even a cat person then. Years later she she arrived. The one on the right is in usual kip mode.

There was a birthday in the house yesterday, so we went on a cliff top walk along the Cleveland Way at Staithes, North Yorkshire. The weather definitely got more ‘Yorkshire’ as we progressed with mist and rain rolling in. Beautiful part of the world. 💚

New cheese unlocked 🧀 This one is an Affidélice au Chablis, a soft, pasteurized cow’s milk cheese from Burgundy 🇫🇷 The wrinkled rind is washed weekly with Chablis wine, infusing it with a tangy, wine-forward flavor and distinctive aroma. 🍷 Very delicious and will definitely buy again. 😋🫠
