Our hotel in Vancouver has a sign by the elevator with pictures of the room renovations in progress. But I'm really glad we have an unrenovated room. Why? Bathtub. I love a bathtub. We haven't even been here 48 hours yet, and I've taken 3 baths.

Fun late afternoon on the Toronto Islands! Had a picnic, learned cool queer history about Toronto, saw the sunset from Hanlon's Beach. I was impressed by the people taking advantage of the clothing optional policy given a) the temp and b) so many damn mosquitoes.

I never thought I'd be a connoisseur of tote bags, but now that I do my grocery shopping on foot I turn out to have very strong opinions about what makes a good one for that purpose. When all I needed them for was store to car and car to door, it didn't matter at all.

Today we went wine tasting in Niagara. Visited 4 wineries (Cave Spring, Mason, Malivoire, Hidden Bench) and brought 17 bottles home. Very fun, but a long slog back to the city.
