Here's how tariffs work. Tariffs are taxes. Like, say, taxes on cigarettes. When taxes on cigarettes went up, what happened? Did tobacco companies eat the extra cost? Nope. They passed it onto consumers - so cigarette prices went UP. Trump just did that to EVERYTHING you buy.
