I'm the same way. It honestly bugs me. I'm in my 30s and I still worry about this a lot, even now. There really is no way to screen yourself, or make it easier to even meet new people. Lots of times it feels like everyone already has a group and they aren't looking to add to it.

That's the problem. People forget that sometimes its about making a statement with your wallet. That isn't the only thing by any means, but it is a signal to be sent. Though you are always going to get people who don't care and keep supporting anyway, even if they have heard all the terrible things.

My entire life I've heard centrists scolding leftist candidates with "oh, but how will we pay for all that? isn't your agenda unreasonable? shouldn't we run on a modest proposal for means-tested tax rebates?" Then Mamdani gets elected and makes it all look pretty easy. No wonder they hate him.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. They only need to start it before they change policy over time incrementally, to soften the blow for collecting more information from a broader group. I'm keeping my eyes open for an alternative to move to asap. They've already proved they can't be trusted.

Yeah its just like this here until like October. Sometimes you still get 100 degree days even then. We have pre-summer, summer, later-summer, and fall/winter combination for seasons. Who would have thought the desert was hot?

I think you're right. I don't want to refactor (again) for the sake of it. I am probably just going to sit on it unless I see a real reason. There are plenty of things with the stack that I have that can improve! I think I just hear all the "what could have been" and it makes me tempted to try it!

I thought about doing a re-write at this point for my platform. I used mostly Fastify and coupling dependencies together for what I needed, but it was painful. Laravel was recommended to me, but I don't know if I want to put myself through the pain of learning it and migration.

As someone who is learning DevOps and other things, I keep hearing that Laravel does some awesome stuff, but I also have heard all the horror stories of PHP and I am afraid to touch it. I wonder how much it is used today over other solutions?
