Jeff Probst once said #Survivor is about doing the same thing differently. I was initially concerned that the Open Era could just be the era of incessant twists. It was a relief to hear him explain and see that, while there's a healthy(?) dose of twists, it's also a return to variety. #Survivor51🐋

26 Years Ago Today. August 23, 2000. After premiering to surprisingly good ratings in May, #Survivor ended its first season more than TRIPLING the number of viewers it started with. It was the end, but it was just the beginning.

#TheTraitorsAU has one cast member who doesn't get credit for their #Survivor past. *20* years ago this month, #SurvivorAU was revived pre-JLP with Dicko as host. It was "Celebrity Survivor: Vanuatu," and it'd be another 10 years (10 years ago this month!) before it'd return again. #TraitorsAU

Pointless Survivor Trivia: On the 25th season of Survivor, Jonathan Penner became the first castaway to have been on seasons starting with two, three, and four tribes. He was the only one until Cirie Fields and Ozzy Lusth achieved this 25 seasons later, on Survivor 50.

Ashamed, I hadn't rewatched any international seasons from the past decade. I decided to change that, and in chronological order. I've finished #SurvivorAU 2016, #SurvivorNZ: Nicaragua, and AU 2017. Just started NZ: Thailand. It's shocking to me that these seasons go back almost 10 years now.

I'd like to see a cast make the game decisions on at the marooning. Swaps? Final four fire-making? Final two or final three? They choose it all and choose whether to reveal it to each other. A well-connected castaway could get more answers than their competitors. #Survivor50

#Survivor50 - "One in the urn." One out of a presumed 12 votes, in this case, is not many. BUT, going back to camp and telling your allies "I've already cast an unchangeable vote for *this* person" has the potential to be a great momentum-maker.

One change I liked to double duos--from tied destinties, as I knew it--is that they voted for pairs. The name even reflects that change. I like that it puts an emphasis on voting for the pair instead of amplifying potential chaos that could make one person a casualty of the other. #Survivor50
