Some would assume that the 8th day of the week would happen after the end of the week (Saturday, Sunday, whatever) but I'm a firm believer that the 8th day happens after Thursday. I cannot fully explain this logic it's a strong gut feeling

1. INTRODUCTION

You don’t know how the legend came to your knowledge

EIGHTH DAY OF THE WEEK is a game about escaping the grind,
and staying awake for 7 days while enduring everyday life and a
specter of sleep debt you leave behind, all to get a taste of
unlocking the secret eighth day of the week.
This is a game of long term sleep deprivation, complicated
relationships with the self, fluctuating debt of the self, of sleep, to
an entity that is too vindictive to be considered a force of karma.

Content Warning section x
This game deals with themes such as insomnia,
degenerative mental and neurological states,
psychosis, delusions, hallucinations, unreality,
supernatural forces and the occult, death,
capitalism, debt, punitive justice, stalking, drugs,
self harm, and purgatory.

2.HOW TO PLAY SECTION

This is a solo journaling ttrpg where you document your journey of
sleep avoidance for 7 days in order to potentially unlock a secret
eighth day of the week. You play the game by rolling for a prompt
that will color the next 24 hours(?) of gameplay, and keep track of
DEBT which is a negative currency you owe to the LENDER, and
REROLLS for the day that they're assigned to. At the end of each
day, there will be a mechanical change that you incorporate into
your character's resources. You will be directed to either roll for a
prompt in a table or pick a single prompt.

Unless otherwise prompted, roll on the MUNDANE
side for each consecutive day
You will need:
– a six sided die.
– something to write with to journal the game.
At the start of every day, before reading your prompt, write down
how many DEBT you have.

Context: The post doesn't substantiate any evidence about how the biomechanics of the human body can perceive or "unlock" a 25th hour in a day by abusing stimulants. While abusing stimulants is a credible method of technically "taking control of time", it only serves as a method by which to accumulate sleep debt, damaging yourself forever in the pursuit of a holy grail that likely doesn't exist;). I think of the core conceit of 8th day so often and yet can't really find an answer: what would I do to obtain an extra day in the week where I'm free of obligation and can take a guaranteed pause on life? Because if I had to stay awake for 7 days I'd just use that time to sleep:)

It saddens and angers me that, by and large, folks don't have empathy for their unhoused neighbours. Calling the cops on an encampment is a cruel and dangerous thing to do. They are not a danger to you. Yes, even if they're doing drugs. Witnessing drug use is not harm being done to you.
