I hate spending SO much on physical anime these days because I thought I’d have more time than a few MONTHS to seemingly buy everything I wanted before it’s all lost to time 😔 Hauls might be happening, but not *always out of a sense of joy, and that really burns the collector in me.

Wednesday has come and gone, buuut I miss when all the great action anime didn’t utilize the same high-impact sound effects. Idk what it’s called, but it was cool in 2017 for, like, a few titles.

i think it’s fascinating when anime doesn’t adapt the source material 1:1 and takes big swings in changing narrative structure/themes/etc for the sake of a new & equally compelling experience (baccano, perfect blue, ghost in the shell)

I’m thankful I grew up in a household where pointing to a VHS or DVD and saying “can we get this pls??” was permissible. As a teen, I lifeguarded to save up for both band camp AND each of Aniplex’s standard ed DVDs of KILL la KILL Later, my first post-grad “adult” purchase was the complete BD set!

Scored a couple deals on the first two DVD sets of Utena by Nozomi via ebay. “To own set 3 would be a pipe dream,” I told myself Then I varied up my search and landed a fantastic listing for all 3… So now I need to sell 2 duplicate Utena sets that I’m soon to be in possession of 🫠👍 love this sport
