Nations League is stupid & yes, I am absolutely against this. Competitive match? Sounds great, except when you are forced into playing Asian opponents 98% (my guess) of the time for Korea and Japan... Except South America, all regions are locked into their own 🤔 www.espn.com/soccer/story...

Ugly to watch from Korea's perspective against younger players. But military exemption is the only thing that matters

Made the mistake of going on other app to gauge performance but one good info is that apparently KBS America YT will show finals.

for Korea, Hwang Heechan is at best, wing forward or just ST. Lee Kangin is #10 or 2nd ST with freedom to roam. guys like Jeong Wooyeong of Union Berlin, Castrop (but i prefer him as #8 in 4-4-2), and Kim Minsu are better wide mids in 4-4-2 for balance purpose.

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

sheesh, ppl are grossly over reacting to meaningless friendlies (yes, even if temp manager is contracted to only 6 games) anyways, Lee Kangin did not play like Lee Kangin of Atletico Madrid. he didn't help out defensively. Hwang Heechan is useless as wide mid www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3eC...

Anyways, I like Moreno. I hope he stays the full WC cycle but KFA needs to sort out the youth system + K League.

000

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

proper friendly after the WC at home, FLAT OUT MEANINGLESS game against jet legged opposition with zero incentive to do well. i liked how Moreno decided to start and test out new players & fringe players. not a fan of Jeong Seungwon as winger/wide mid. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXFm...

Hockey assist for Lee Kangin. His contribution to goal scoring opportunities is amazing

I wish Lee Kangin took the penalty. His switch of play from own half started the whole sequence to penatly

well, Lee Seungwoo didn't get selected. umm, disappointed in his K League call ups.. tbh. i was hoping for some younger players to get included but.. oh well, guy has a short contract, he can't do much

010

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Wow, haha. What a goal..Giuliano Simone will never do this again (he can't, he doesn't have the ability except just run all day)

makes absolutely no sense for the kid, unless he had zero future with Jeju or at K League

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I can't think of other Korean forwards who scored more, or had more impact compared to Ji Dongwon except Son Heungmin and Park Chuyoung (Monaco and KNT). All others played below Ji Dongwons lvl, and worse KNT goal scoring record

011

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

under appreciated for not being flashy, but he was intelligent multi purpose forward who did his job properly.

Man feel so old to see Ji Dong Won retire. A bit sad his greatest moments were a bit under the radar.

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

hmm, starting XI prediction for Sept friendlies? 4-3-3 Lee Seungwoo - Son HM - Lee Kangin Hwang Inbeom - Paik Seungho - Lee Jaesung Lee Taeseok - Kim Minjae - Lee Hanbeom - Seoul YW GK? bench - Hwang HC, Kim Minsu, Oh HG, Hong HS, Cho GS, Jeong WY, GK? players are out injured or at Asian Games

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

based on this list? yea, Robert Moreno is the best candidate.. i hope he does well. if he gets Lee Kangin on board, and into his project/philosophy.. should be good. has chip on his shoulder, probably has ambition to go further as manager (especially in club football) x.com/KORFootballN...

I see the logic behind it since they have no creative players, but sheesh, it sucks since he was their best #8 or pivot player last year I believe. Just checked their roster and it is not a balanced squad. Too many wingers past their prime

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

He can technically play anywhere, but he doesn't fit into any clear role with the way they play imo... Best case scenario.. is up front, running the channels and scoring goals (something he struggles to do).

000

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

good move, he needed to move.. at the same time, i have no idea how he fits into Schalke system atm. what would be his role?

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I wish he didn't move to Championship... would have been better off in Netherlands/Belgium and to Spain or Bundesliga afterwards. Feels like he will end his career, go through some injuries like Kimbo and end his EU career before he reaches his peak.

120

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Could be world cup fatigue, injury and etc but not a fan of his diminished role .. hopefully he regains his form

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I'm hoping he does well and stays for the full World Cup cycle. He should be spot on tactically and up to date with modern football trends. The question toward him is player management..

010

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

just need Kim Jisoo to escape, if he can...

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Who knows? It all depends on him, how Korean players react to him, play.. but also, whatever KFA is doing atm with supposed "changes". They have to elect new Pres and etc before anything can be decided, and move forward (or backwards)

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

honestly, he would have been ideal after Bento, as he would be continuation & improve from Bento. now, he prefers FBs to be offensive.. and well, Korea struggles with developing offensive FBs.., so.. that will be interesting. also, could Lee Seungwoo return, for a brief cameo?

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

what we can expect from him... as he explains it himself. this is a good opportunity for him to resurrect his coaching career, so.. i think he will be well prepared www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGV...

Korea has a new coach, well.. temp coach. Roberto Moreno it is.. i like the pick. if he does well, and integrates new players (younger players as Korea is in transition to Lee Kangin as the focal pt).. i will be okay with him for the whole WC cycle too. x.com/theKFA/statu...

You think so? I think it will be okay since international week is on the same week as Asian Games.. He wouldn't miss any games imo.. well, maybe a game or two as he might require a rest after the Games.

Kim Jisoo, Hwang Heechan, and Hong Hyunseok... can they move in the deadline day?

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

absolutely not. move to MLS will kill his career. he would be forgotten by KFA/KNT for international duty, but even if he were to be selected, travel distance from amerika to Korea/Asia will only harm his body and form. Also, MLS isn't an "upgrade" over K League.. so, pointless.

000

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

likely the next Korean kid from K League to move to Europe.. i just hope he moves to smaller league to start his career over joining a big league, only to join a "reserve" team. anyways, he seems like "cleaner" version of Koo Jacheol. hybrid #8... www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPCf...

100

Takeuchi @takeuchee.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

well, this transfer more or less forces KFA/KNT to call him up to senior team for Asian Cup. also, sets him up to make the Olympic squad and next Asian Games... now, at the same time.. he can score 30 goals in one season and we still have to question his ability & judge him more on NT performance
