I learned a lot in my BA days

Most think of the city as full of concrete. There is another side, full of green. There are farms with crops. There are fish farms. All of this will be gone at some point when the "Northern Metropolis" is built - integrating the city with the North. This exists - for now.

I walked around after a talk. It was about the use of Social Media & AI for self-diagnosis. It was good, but what I got out of it was how people approach these things to find out the reason they suffer. It's the search for an answer. My role is to listen and help in that search.

We have a new child at the school. I was told he has “issues” (Special Educational Needs). I've been talking to him every day. He told me he was nervous. I told him I'm here for him. Today he asked to play chess, said I'm bad at it, and we played. He said he felt better.

In the gentle art of listening and guiding, trust and understanding find their way. Two students and a teacher confided in me a lot of their painful pasts. I still have a client tonight. It feels good but I'm physically tired.

It's what I've heard. I find tinder the least worst option in hk. The best is still, “Hi, my name is….”

You still use it? I heard it is unusable with ads, bots, and scams.

Colonoscopy Time - if you are over 50 - get it checked out. It is uncomfortable but it is worth it. If you are in HK, it is also reasonable.

It's getting warmer on this trip home to see Mom and my brother. The snow is melting, and yet there is a lot of it to melt. I'm just happy to be home for a bit.

One of our long-serving substitute teachers died over the holidays. They last taught before the break and were to prepare for after. I've been asked to help with some of the multicultural students cope with their grief. It’ll be hard, and I hope I can support them properly.

When studying at HKU, I’d always walk along this road. I did it again yesterday. #walkhk

“For Tang, bamboo embodies Hong Kong’s spirit - flexible, resilient and stronger together. Each bamboo piece is different. Some are bent, curved, or straight, yet they come together to form a whole structure.” - good quote. asia.nikkei.com/life-arts/li...

The speech festival is challenging. Most schools pick the most fluent students, but I try to choose those who struggle, often shy. This year was great. The two saw me daily. They may not know their ABCs, but they still came—to gain confidence speaking a second language. It went well, and I'm proud.

As a teacher and budding mental health counsellor, I'm always happy when seeing how different places talk about Autism. These are two documentaries about autism in China and the efforts to increase its visibility. The article is bilingual with Chinese and Eng. open.substack.com/pub/chinauno...
