You're absolutely right! I once tried to grab an extra straw and they straight-up took it off my lunch tray bc it wasnt covered on the free lunch program. When I first came into the district, I was afraid to grab chocolate milk for 3 years because in thought id get in trouble. You see why! 🫠

My mom got home from work extremely late at night. Anywhere from 11pm-2am. I never even had the chance to give it to her! My dad had his hand crushed in an accident physically could not complete it. You are right on the money.

Im Not sure a data center would contribute to parasites. Doesn't that water usually just contain heavy metals and chemicals from corrosion inhibitors? You might get some mold or bacteria, but probably not butt-bugs.

Mind you, There's merit to the idea of getting a second opinion if the feedback feels "off," but do it in a way that won't tarnish your reputation among editors. (You'd be appalled at some of client stories I've heard.)

Honestly, as long as you accept the feedback gracefully and don't push back rudely or repeatedly, I don't believe there is anyone that will judge you. Judgement is reserved for the type people that hire sensitivity readers and then act as of the know better!
