The use of 2025 British Summer time has now expired. Instigated 30th March to move sunset from 6:30 to 7:30, Sunset today is 8:30 so that would have been 7:30. Same the other side. So you get an evening benefit for 2 months a year with a dark morning cost and no difference in actual summer.

30th March. Mother’s Day here in the UK. Mothers across the country lose an hour of sleep. Sun rise was at 06:33 and sunset at 19:27 and we moved the clocks forward an hour. Sun rise was at 05:33 and sunset would have been at 18:27. So how long is this benefit for? It’s probably not what you think.

Deep strategy I put to you: 3rd Best: The North border must be defended but the border is worst. 2nd Best: Natural barriers slightly in from the border. However #Ukraine should 1st Best: Find natural defence lines just over the border and blow the Russian bridges all along the entire North.

For anyone hearing about the Sudzha liberation in #Kursk, know that only makes up one third of conurbation and is a salient. It would be smarter not hold those but dial them into a kill zone.

The currently mapped area of held territory in #Kursk is naturally defendable. If I was switching to a defensive line in Kursk from a raiding one I’d hold here and retake the gap. The rivers flanking and high ground help #Ukraine might just exit but then it would need to find a line within Ukraine.

#Kursk is ok. The roads are the important bits and they are pressured, but if we colour #Ukraine blue, the slice in half looks less dramatic.

I think you can see where I’d build my #Sumy and #Kharkiv defensive line for #Ukraine. I’d build it in #Kursk and #Belgorod and hit anything that crossed a river.
